I may be interested later in the year but couldn’t put the time in atm.
Meta Verified
I keep getting emails from Meta suggesting I subscribe to their verification program. Has anyone done this and is it worth while?

Wow. It's a shame you need to pay (at least) $15/month just to get support in case bad actors exploit a very exploitable system. Peak enshittification.
Blurb help, please😁
I'm working on the blurb for book #2 in the series, and it's just not generating a lot of pre-orders. Any thoughts on how to improve it are very welcome. All’s fair in love and war…until a professional hockey star skates into town, wounded hero that he is, and pucks everything up. Since the first worst day of her life, Army veteran Emma Larson has spent the last sixteen years building walls to keep herself focused on the things that matter: her bookstore, the aunts who raised her, the JV hockey team she coaches, and her palomino, Hoopla. The last thing she needs is her high school rival, Bobby Frickin’ Marshall, home after a potentially career-ending injury. He’s just so d*mned cheerful. Whether he challenges her to arm wrestling, or turns up at her hockey practice, or comes to monster book club night at the store, he never loses that celebrity smile. Each time, he chips at the mortar holding her walls in place, and she is not okay with it. Even if, maybe, he’s a little good looking. Maybe a lot good-looking, if one watches his backside as he moves on the ice. The more games they play, the more the rules confuse her, and she doesn’t need confusion. If he ever learns the devastating truths about her past, choosing who’s on the volunteer list at the Harvest Festival Kissing Booth is going to be the least of her problems. Are they playing for love…or for forever? Win Me Over is a steamy, reverse grumpy-sunshine romance with rivals to lovers, matchmaking aunties, light suspense, and small town fall festivities.

I think it’s pretty good but could use some trimming. Even eliminating just a couple phrases smooths it out. You can cut ā€œwounded hero that he is,ā€ and ā€œsince the worst first day of her lifeā€ and get a big improvement in readability. From there, I think you can tighten things up. The ā€œwhether he challenges her to arm wrestlingā€ list can be truncated (or skipped entirely) for instance. 150 words is a good upper limit.
Klaviyo
Any of you guys/gals out there using Klaviyo for direct sales/marketing? I just saw BookFunnel added integration with the service. If you’re using it, do you like it?

I use it, but I can’t say I like it. It’s fine, pretty powerful, and good at what it does—namely integrating with Shopify. I might step back from Shopify and use Payhip in the coming year, though. If I do, I’ll drop Klaviyo. It’s interesting to note that basically all the people recommending Klaviyo are affiliated and/or have a course on it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s a thing.
I'm so scared! LOL
I'm building slides for my first Jill (not Mal) presentation. I might pass out shortly.
