Winter sickness
Has anyone have trouble getting sick or really bad sinus infections during winter? I've been trying to take normal vitamins and eating proper. However I've been almost getting sick every week then like a two week break then back again. Wondering if that's just a celiac thing or just something random😅

I’m curious too. I feel like I get everything. 😓
Random coeliac disease facts
Hey everyone, Thought I'd jump on here & start a thread because I've been doing a bit of research over the past week & I've learned some random & useful things about CD. For example, I discovered that laxatives are ineffective for us, and that we're at higher risk of miscarriages if we get glutened. So I thought maybe we could share some different facts we've found out about the way our bodies work with this condition & help educate each other 😊

Can you share the research about miscarriage? My doctors says that most of these risks are only when you are not eating GF. So I find this a bit scary.

@Ella Capey-Wade thank you!
Neurodiversity and Coeliac!
Are there any fellow neurospicys? AuDHD, ADHD or ASD? Do you find they impact your ability to cope/function with coeliac? x

When I am overwhelmed or overstimulated it makes it very hard to advocate for myself. And I struggle with executive functions. To get myself started to make food for example. And the consequences are bigger that before, now I really have to make something because otherwise I don’t have any food. It helps to get me motivated but still a struggle. 🙈

@Jess Cripps I am still figuring it out haha. But I try to make things as easy as possible so the mountain doesn’t feel as big. I try to cook ones, eat twice. Use pre-cut veg. I use the airfryer a lot with things I can take from the freezer. Do you have things that helps you?
Living with with family who aren’t GF
Hey, me again😅 Anyone who lives with family who aren’t Coeliac/GF? How do you operate? What is separate? Do you share cutlery? Air fryer if using inserts? How do you go to other families houses/ visit friends and eat where you don’t have your GF sanctuary… pans, utensils, plates, trays etc? Last thing… Anyone with Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH)?😩

Hi! My husband eats gluten. He has his own drawer with his bread and appliances like a toaster. So he is the exception, not me. He has his own butter, jam, peanut butter, etc. I do struggle sometimes with the crumbs on the counter. So I clean the counter a lot. He occasionally makes pizza in the oven. But otherwise, everything in the cupboards and refrigerator is GF. And diner is almost everyday GF except for the pizza. When I use the oven, I use top-bottom heat, not convection. I have my own toaster. I use the air fryer as an oven, so I want it to be always GF. And I have a small air fryer that I take with me when I go to eat at family or friends. At there houses I just make sure everything is clean or I rinse it before I use it. I do ask for clean kitchen towels etc. I also do a lot of the same things that are already mentioned.

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all. I am Tjitske from the Netherlands. I was diagnosed in oct 2025. So getting more used to it but still getting used to it haha. At home I found a good routine. My partner and family are very supportive. But sometimes they don’t really understand it. I am the only one so it can be a bit lonely sometimes. Outside the home I still find it really stressfull. I know what to ask and look out for but still have a lot of anxiety around it. But it definitely gets better with time.
