What do you think? Do we really need supplements for body balance?
I’m curious what you think: When it comes to feeling balanced in body and mind, do you believe supplements are necessary? Or do you think daily habits like movement, sleep, food, sunlight, and stress management matter more?

I do use supplements, and I consider them an extension of my food a part of my diet. I try to find good sources and take them regularly - rather than, as you say, occasionally, so they accrete in my system and my wonderfully adaptive body has them on hand as needed. Some to address specific things, like ashwaganda or adaptogenic mushrooms for cognitive health, others for nutrients that are required, but harder to get enough of through diet, like magnesium. In any case I would say all of the above, food, sleep, exercise, stress management and supplementation are helpful to a balanced life. We live in a world of uncommon stress, it is useful (to me) to have a few extra tools to balance that out.

Enjoying your insights- these have a great crossover meaning for me as an internal martial artist- where at high levels the fight or flight response is replaced with awareness. I do not need to retreat, nor do I need to react, just observe and be aware of the situation, feel and recognize the fear or anger or distress, even boredom or lack of energy as information rather than an enemy to be rid of.
Ritual Instead of Training
A ritual is not about performance. It’s about repetition. From one angle, it looks like you’re doing the same thing again and again. Like a circle. But from another perspective, it’s a spiral. Repeating — yet growing. This week, don’t look for a new workout. Look for a movement you’re willing to return to, again and again. Reflection: What small ritual could you keep even on an ordinary day? Body want to Move Mind wants to Believe

Well said, I am a practioner of Baguazhang, based on a Daoist practice of meditative circle walking, and this resonates. Ritual is often considered big, hierarchical, institutional or proscribed. It is good to have small, personal, quiet rituals that carry meaning for oneself.

@YgY YinYangCoach Sure!- Baguazhang is one of the 4 main internal martial art systems from China, similar in some respects to Taijichuan (Tai Ch'i) and the forms of the style are performed in a circle, with techniques taking place at the changes of direction. It is infused with circles, spirals and changes, and beautifully aligned with the "moving meditation" quality of internal MA. The "Ba Gua" refers to the 8 trigrams, the sets of three whole and broken lines that often surround the yin yang symbol and are themselves a profound representation of ideas in spirituality, mathematics, geomancy, fengshui and more.
Start here – your first steps in Body & Mind Balance
Welcome to Body & Mind Balance – I’m really glad you’re here. 🙏 This space is for people who want to gently reconnect with their body and mind. No pressure, no perfection, just simple steps toward more balance. Before we go deeper with programs and practices, I’d like to start very simply – with awareness and intention. 👉 If you’d like to begin, you can do this: 1. Take a quiet moment for yourself. 2. Take a few slow breaths. 3. Ask yourself : “What do I want from my body and my mind this year?” It can be more energy, less pain, more calm, more strength, more joy… If you feel comfortable, share your answer in the comments with one sentence: “This is what I’d like to experience in my body and mind…” This will help me create future content, practices and programs that truly support you – not just in theory, but in real life. Your body wants to move. Your mind wants to believe. Welcome on this journey. 🌱 Start here!

Enjoying your take on things, a welcome reminder that I/we have the requisite ingredients, that it is only necessary to come to the project honestly to give ourselves what is needed. Thanks!
