🤔 I've been thinking about this a lot lately
The fastest way to change your behavior has nothing to do with willpower. 🌈 Here's a 30 second mental model that changes everything for moms who are building a business. Imagine you were a thriving entrepreneur. Consistent income, a schedule you controlled, work that lit you up, and time left over for your kids. Now imagine you woke up tomorrow and none of that existed. How fast would you fight to get it back? Lightning fast. Because your brain would be screaming "this is not me." That is identity based motivation and it is the most powerful force in human behavior. Here is the practical hack that comes from this: 👉 Write out in vivid detail what your life looks like stuck in the version you do not want. No business. No income. Completely dependent. No flexibility. Missing school pickups because you are working a job you hate. Print it. Put it somewhere you see it every single day. Your first instinct might be "won't that just make me feel bad?" No. And here is why. We are not pleasure seeking creatures. We are discomfort avoiding creatures. 🚨 Your brain is wired to move away from bad things before it moves toward good ones. That is just biology. That reminder is not there to make you feel guilty. It is there to create cognitive dissonance. Your brain sees it, registers "that is not my life," and quietly starts setting a course to correct it. No motivational quotes needed. It just gets to work. Stop trying to pull yourself toward your goals. Start making it uncomfortable to stay where you are. 👇 What version of yourself are you done tolerating?

@Michelle McCartney the side work I rely on to pay my monthly bills. I do contract Respiratory work for 2 different companies and make my own schedule for those, but each setup takes time to schedule, at least an hour of driving round trip and then at least an hour to actually do, and can take much longer if it is further away, or if a setup itself takes longer to do than than the average. I also still work in the hospital a day a week. I don't want to give that up completely, but I would like to drop it down to every other week. My goals are to make a bigger impact (roots cause versus symptom management and lifestyle change) while still being present with my children.

Tomorrow I have a health fair event I'm doing at a local Dr's office in town. And the next 30 days, I'll be working to bring my fire back that I lost due to sheer exhaustion.

This is something that has been on my heart for a few years and I am so excited to finally make this a reality! I wrote a book! Well — I co-authored one. And it’s publishing this month. It’s called Femme Led: Hard-Learned Lessons from Women in Leadership. This project showed me that there's a lot more to me and how I can make an impact with moms in today's toxic modern day culture. More soon. For now, I’m just sitting with the fact that I’m officially a published author. Huge shout out to @Sierra Melcher who organized the whole thing ❤️
