What Would You like To See In The Society
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, As we continue to strive for the betterment and improvement of this society, we want to encourage all of the members to be active and to help build this society. We understand that some came from the previous site and some were present when the Gentleman’s Lounge became The Society Of Ordinary Gentlemen, the purpose of the change was to help build and promote not just a community but a society and and a lifestyle of ladies and gentlemen. There is no set formula to achieve this but there are standards and values that have been present. But we also would like to hear from the members of what you would like to see and topics that you would like to explore and discuss. We would like hear good and positive feedback, we are not looking to hear finger pointing or blaming, or how things use to be. Yes things have changed for the better not to say that things were bad in the past but to better in the ways of improvement. One of the key points we are looking to is host more Society Lounges, and also when a board member is online to open up a live feed, where members can come into the lounge to visit, ask questions , offer suggestions, or just get to know members. So please take a few minutes and give us your thoughts, and what you would like to see. We cannot guarantee that all an ideas will be used, or placed into practice right away. But we will take all of them into consideration. Thank you im advance.

@Anthony Buntyn constructive criticism is always positive or it's not constructive.

@Jacques Therrien this sounds to me like a continuation of your last outburst. I tried to keep that that thing private because I viewed commenting on that in public is like "public shaming" and a gentleman doesn't do that either. You decided to start a specticle with that last one and it seems like that's the same way this is going. Before you say it (because I know you will), this is not about suppression, it's about protecting the integrity of the society and upholding the code of conduct.

📻World Radio Day📻 More than just a blast from the past, radios are a window to the world with music, news, and talk shows to keep you informed and entertained. The world used to be a much bigger place, at least when you consider the difficulty involved with transmitting information from place to place. In the beginning, we simply had to walk and talk to one another, and then we were able to write and exchange letters. Ideas and music traveled the world at a snail’s pace as compared to today. But then the radio was invented, and suddenly transmitting ideas hundreds of miles became a relatively trivial matter! The world became connected, and it would never be the same. Let’s celebrate World Radio Day and show appreciation for the connectedness this technology has offered!

Are We Doing Our Part?
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, One thing that I have noticed when it comes to people, people are quick to complain about situations but they did nothing to prevent, change it, or offer an alternative. For example, people complain about the election but did not vote. Some will say I did vote; okay, let’s look at this for a moment. When that person first started his career, did you pay attention to his platform? Or let’s look at work, people complain about the new rule or policies, did you voice your thoughts or opinions in the company suggestion box? When they were talking about problems leading up to this policy did you speak up? Let’s look at laws, people complain about laws, but when they were being discussed in legislation did you attend rallies, when a bill was on the docket before it was passed did you voice your opinion? What’s my point? This is the point, as ladies and gentlemen in this world we live in we have to be aware of the things around us that involve us directly or indirectly. A lot of laws, and decisions are being made around us everyday and we fail to either pay attention or care until they become in effect, then we want to complain about them. This is a critical time for most of us as we get older and are going to rely on the next generation to take over. This means we need to be active in what is happening around us, the next generation coming up they may not have values and morals. So we need to be teaching them the correct ways and how to live, and to make a better future. If we all wait for the next person to get involved or do something then no one will or the wrong people will step up and take over. Let’s make a conscious effort to stay informed and be present in the things around and things that affect us.

@Jeremy B I agree with your statement with one exception. I think it is worse for the wrong person to step up than for no one to step up. If no one steps up, the situation will stay the same but if the wrong person steps up, they will lead the situation the wrong direction and further into disrepair. They are both extremely bad but the wrong person is worse in my opinion.
Apparently, not like a bicycle.
You know how they say some things are like a bicycle and you and you don't forget? Well, I guess that is not the case with a safety razor. I started using a safety razor and got used to using it with no nicks, and then I grew a beard for a couple of months. When I shaved it off I have noticed that it's almost like starting over again. These last two times I have shaved, I have nicked myself. Is this just me or has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal?

@Jeremy B Very good point. And I had only been using a safety razor for about 4 months before I started growing the beard.
A Word on Suicidal Ideation, again
Realizing my usual thoughts of suicide were becoming more prevalent and intense, I decided I would see a general practitioner for a referral to counseling. On the way I stopped at Waffle House for a late breakfast. The place was experiencing a temporary lull. Several stools at the counter available. I sat two stools from another man of about 60. I noticed his facial expression. As I sat I could feel his tension. Seconds later I felt his anger. His meal finished, he stood with his check in hand. I said, " wait please. I'll pay your check if you tell me what's going on." He replied, " It's personal!" "Everything thing is personal." "I don't know you! " " Do you know yourself?" He was immediately off balance. " It's not something I want to talk about in public with a stranger!" " Then we can talk in private." I paid his check and he agreed to follow me home. Turns out he went to his family doctor admitting to thoughts of suicide. According to the man, once he spoke to his doctor the doctor said to wait a minute while the doctor could tell his nurse he would be busy for a while. In reality, the doctor told his nurse to call an ambulance. After ten days in a psych ward he was released to a social worker and the police. An Administrative Warrant was issued. All of the man's guns and his knife collection was seized. As was all the medications that had been prescribed. He had to see a therapist once a month but a nurse practitioner twice each week but seldom the same one. I assisted him with stress relief and my phone number. I ain't going to any doctor. End of story.

What a bizarre story. I don't blame you for not wanting to go see a doctor after that encounter.
