SOTD: Teriaq Intense by Lattafa 14/12/2025
You don't normally get the name of the creator with these ME fragrances, but this one has been associated with a rather famous perfumer, responsible for most of the JPG Le Male line, the entire Carolina Herrera Good Girl/Bad Boy range and a few Azzaro to name but a few. Yes this is a Quentin Bisch creation. If you love boozy, spicy, and sweet gourmand fragrances, especially those with a prominent plum note, then you are in look. Teriaq Intense is an Oriental Spicy fragrance that is rich, boozy, sweet, and warm. The opening provides a quick lift with the freshness of bergamot, which is immediately warmed and given a slightly metallic/leathery depth by the luxurious saffron. The heart is where the scent truly shines, featuring a boozy plum liquor note. This is refined, not a harsh alcoholic smell, and blends beautifully with the comforting, spicy warmth of cinnamon. This for me is the most addictive part of the fragrance. The dry-down is luxurious, long-lasting, and smooth. Tonka bean adds a creamy, vanilla-like sweetness, while amber and benzoin provide a resinous, balsamic warmth that anchors the entire fragrance. This is not a clone or dupe for Khamrah, but if you were to make a comparision, this has more dept and less sharpness. It smells and lasts well above its price. I get a good 6+ hours out of this one of course my hoodie is so well hydrated, it always lasts longer there. It projects well, especially in the first few hours, and leaves a noticeable, intoxicating scent trail. Autumn, Winter is the optimal time for this too shine and it's perfect for evening wear. Anyone looking for a high-quality, masterfully blended Middle Eastern fragrance at an affordable price point, then look no further. Lattafa hit the nail on the head with this one. My Rating: 8/10 Scent: 2.5 Longevity: 2.5 Sillage: 2 Y/N: 1

SOTD:  Eau Sauvage edt by Dior 21/05/2026
Eau Sauvage is one of the most legendary, timeless citrus-aromatic chypre fragrances, I've come across. Created as Dior’s very first fragrance for men way back in 1966 by master perfumer Edmond Roudnitska. Said to have revolutionised men’s perfumery by blending bright freshness with floral elegance, thus breaking conventions of the era . It is refined, clean & effortlessly sophisticated. This is the definition of a classic, the fact that it is still around speaks volumes. Fun story behind the name, When the fragrance was being developed in the mid-1960s, perfumer Edmond Roudnitska presented early versions of the scent to Christian Dior. Dior was said to have loved the fresh, bold character of the perfume, but hadn’t settled on a name yet. One day, while testing it, he exclaimed in French “Quel eau… sauvage !” Which loosely translates to “What a… wild/untamed scent!” The phrase stuck instantly & they decided to keep it. It opens with a sparkling burst of bergamot, lemon, basil, rosemary, and a hint of cumin. It's sharp, zesty & invigorating, instantly fresh and alive. Within an hour, this softens into an elegant heart, with jasmine, rose, coriander & orris root, plus hedione, which brings a luminous, smooth, almost powdery floral softness that feels gentle yet distinctly masculine. As it settles, the base emerges with notes of oakmoss, vetiver, sandalwood, musk & amber. It's earthy, woody, slightly mossy, warm, yet dry, creating a refined, grounded finish that stays close to the skin yet clean. Performance is solid for an EDT: it lasts 6 hours on skin, longer on fabric, with a moderate projection thats noticeable & pleasant within arm’s length for the first 2 hours, before becoming a soft, elegant skin scent. It shines brightest in spring/summer, ideal for daytime wear, office, business meetings, formal events, or smart casual occasions, never loud, always appropriate. This is probably one of the most versatile, refined & respected fragrances ever made. My Rating: 8/10

@Edward Mooney this is the veryfirst fragrance anyone ever bought me, I seem to recall a fairly dinky 30ml bottle 😁 great choice!
Rayhaan - Imperia Intense
I bought this one recently - as a blind buy, after reading the note breakdown on a website I trust. Top Notes: Star Anise, Cypress, Pepper, Tangerine. Heart notes: Incense, Lavender, Orange Blossom, Vetiver. Base Notes: Cashmere Wood, Vanilla, Musk, Sandalwood. Tbf, I can't say the note breakdown 100% reflects my real life experience, I couldn't pick much int he way of the tangerine, through the Star Anise, cypress, and pepper are in there, though not bitter in any way. I found the incense and vetiver are definitely detectable the lavender is very subtle - but I suspect offsets and freshens some of thee heavier notes. The vanilla and a soft sandalwood come through prominently on the dry down. For me, the balance between sweetness and green/fresh is what makes this one so appealing. I found it also has a fair degree of punch, with decent longevity (6+hrs) and a fair amount of projection to boot. Its insanely good value too - ÂŁ17 for 100ml EDP Glad I took the risk on this one!

@Lon Chaneyfield tbh, I'm not 100% sure. According to 'Google ', its a clone of Gucci Guolty Elixir.... but, I've never tried that, so uncertain if its a good clone or not. Kind of puts me in mind of D&G Intenso, but a little sweeter, with a much more notable vanilla scent at the base. There is something hinting at Aventus at the opening but nothing like the citrus.
Slay the Sample: Classic Stone by Lattafa
Another standout fragrance from the Niche Emerati line. They really do seem to be attempting to bridge a gap between the middle eastern & the western niche perfumeries. This one was an early 2025 release with a close resemblance to PDM's Althair. But unlike the popular alternative, Liquid Bruhn, this is not a direct clone, Yes it does have some of that gourmand DNA, it goes off in a more leather/Spicey direction. All in a rather pleasant twist. The opening is an immediate statement. It hits with the warm, metallic tang of saffron & the aromatic punch of green cardamom. The cumin adds a slight earthy, skin ike warmth while the violet gives an airy, powdery softness that keeps the spices from becoming too heavy. As the initial spice settles, the heart reveals its true character: Suede. This isn't a harsh leather; it's a soft, velvety, brushed suede. The osmanthus adds a faint peachy- loral sweetness that smooths out the edges of the cloves & nutmeg, giving the fragrance a textured depth. The dry-down is where the Stone in the name makes sense. It feels grounded & solid. The ambergris provides a salty, mineral shimmer, while the woody notes & oakmoss give it a classic, masculine-leaning backbone. The musk ensures a clean, lingering trail that stays on the skin for hours. This will last you at least 7hrs on Skin, and it will stay on clothes until they are washed. Projection is solid too. It creates a noticeable bubble around the wearer for the first 3 hours without being cloying. It is best suited for evening wear, formal events, or cold weather daytime use. Its spicy-leather profile makes it a perfect companion for a leather jacket or a sharp suit. Think a bottle is needed for my shelf. My Rating: 9/10 Scent: 3 Longevity: 2.5 Sillage: 2.5 Y/N: 1

@Edward Mooney that sounds incredible. I take it you got a sample from Lattafa -direct?
Budget Friendly
Having to replenish the summer stock - but on something of a budget. Have opted for these two, tried a sample of both - Amazon had a great deal on them! Would've been daft not too. Afnan 9pm Rebel - if you like pineapple, on the softer, sweeter end - thos is an excellent option! Rayhaan Imperia - very, very versatile, strikes me as a hybrid of Aventus and D&G Intenso. Much more subtle than 9pm Rebel, and more fresh/clean in overall style. Hope you all having an awesome Saturday!

@Lon Chaneyfield agree! 9pm Rebel is a favourite of my wife's - which is unusual, as she typically doesn't like sweeter leaning scents....either way,, spousal approval is a big influence when deciding on a full bottle purchase 😁
