Challenge accepted?
Running won. let’s keep it simple! 20km by Friday 2359 cut off. ideally a minimum of 3 runs don’t want anyone going out and blasting 20k Friday afternoon if they don’t usually run that far. We know it’s easy to vote on a poll, can you commit to the challenge? For those sickos who voted for the burpees…. I’ve got a challenge in mind I’ll keep it in my back pocket for now✅

Let’s keep it going strong guys!!!!
Monday morning
Good morning strong dads!!! Let’s get after it this week. I wish everyone a strong and prosperous week ahead! Let’s Get Some!!!!
Purpose!!
In the past two weeks I have reached out to my dad ( for those that listened to me on the podcast you’ll understand the importance). It’s been a very long time and this year I have been really Focusing not just on the physical strength but mental health and strength. With that said i decided to give my dad an opportunity to fill in some gaps. I didn’t really get the response out of him that I had hoped but one thing was clear. His mental health is not in a good place. With that said i wanted to share with you guys a question that my wife and I talked about to help me through this. Since I didn’t get the answers from my dad I was hoping for and in reflection the focus should be on my purpose. For a long time I looked at it as patch up the past and get acceptance through other things but was avoiding the deep underlying question. With that said I pose this. Other than the obvious which is to be here for our family and those close to us. What is your purpose. Given the skills you have and strengths what is your purpose and how do you strive to fulfill that purpose. We have roles as husbands fathers and sons. But we have god given talents and abilities that we must use to get fulfillment from life so that we can be the best we can be in those roles. Anyone have any comments or thoughts on this. Thank you for reading and I just thought I would share this thought with the group. Stay strong brothers

I think I knew my purpose all along I was just focusing on making sense of my past and got too distracted by things I can’t change or control. I think that therapy is good but you must keep things in perspective you cannot change bad experiences you’ve been through but what you can do is learn how to react better and find better coping mechanisms.
You’ve been called out 🫵🏼

I got an idea let’s keep this challenge going but every month change it a little. Like next month do the 20k but try to add like 20 burpees total to it. Try to knock some burpees out after a short run. What do you guys think. Keep pushing the bar!!!
Boots
Evening, brothers! These bad boys are my Lowa Uplander GTX TF’s. They are old and well worn, but there’s life in them yet. They’re my go-to boots for long walks, climbing and rucking. They were actually the last pair of boots I used whilst working in prison. I always paid a decent bit of money on boots as I could be wearing them for 24 hours and needed to be comfortable. Many a good swift kick to the bollocks was delivered by these! Recently I’ve found they’ve given me the occasional blister, and I’m thinking of replacing the insoles as they’re also old. Do you think that’ll do the trick? Or is it time to put these beauties in to retirement? 🥲

I have an old pair of duty boots that are very similar. I only wear them around the firehouse and for minimal walking. I think it may be time to retire them to just working in the yard or daily wear. Nothing beats a good boot but for the kind of work you’re putting them through I think they may be a little used up. You could try the insoles but I am a strong believer you can never be too cautious with your feet when it comes to boots running shoes or anything you are gonna put some hours in. When in doubt or in question I always say replace them. And yes don’t ever cheap out on boots!!!
