Sunday Win: Junior Graphic Designer 🎨✨
My sister officially hired my daughter as her Junior Graphic Designer for her business. She asked her to help create a poster and offered to pay her $10 for the project. The cutest part was watching my daughter have a little “business meeting” with her Auntie to present her finished Canva design. This meant so much to me because my daughter’s dream is to become a graphic designer when she grows up, and my sister gave her a real opportunity to explore her creativity and build confidence in her skills. After she finished the poster, my sister was so happy with it that she paid her $15 instead of $10. My daughter was SO excited. 😆 Then came the life lesson. We were getting ready to go to Disneyland, and my daughter decided she didn’t want to bring her water bottle even though it was hot outside. Her lips were already chapped, and she had no water. So I asked her, “It’s hot, your lips are chapped, and you have no water. Are you planning to buy a $5 water bottle at Disneyland? Because I will deduct that from your hard-earned graphic design money since you’re too lazy to carry your own water.” 😂 Let me tell you, she quickly grabbed her backpack, filled up her water bottle, and moisturized her lips. I jokingly told her, “It hits different when it comes out of your own budget versus someone else’s budget.” My point wasn’t about refusing to buy her water. It was about teaching her the value of her money, planning ahead, and understanding that the little choices we make can affect what we work hard for. Proud mom moment and life lesson all in one. She got to experience earning money from her talent, and then immediately learned how easy it is to spend it when you don’t prepare. 😂 Auntie gave her the business opportunity. Mom gave her the budget lesson. Teamwork. 😆💛

This is so true on so many levels! 😂 Once my older boys started working, suddenly everything became expensive. Haha. Buying toothpaste and deodorant felt like the end of the world! I love that your girl has such a great mama and auntie to teach her those valuable life lessons. ❤️

I’d be making better progress if I could just figure out how to calculate calories for batch-cooked meals. 😅 Confession: I’ve been cooking single meals all this time because my coconut brain short-circuits whenever I try to measure food in batches. 😂🙏
From Evenings to Mornings: My Workout Game-Changer
I never thought I’d say this, but switching my workouts from evenings and nights to mornings has made SUCH a huge difference! 🙌 Today was my second morning workout, and wow…I have so much more energy throughout the day. I had to switch things up because of summer break with the kids and juggling football and boxing practices, but honestly, it may have been the best change I’ve made. It’s funny how life forces us to adjust sometimes, and those adjustments end up being exactly what we needed. 💪✨ Any other moms out there who made the switch to morning workouts? I’d love to hear if you’ve noticed the same thing!

Auntie Bootcamp: Nutrition 101 🍎🔋
Last night turned into Nutrition 101 with my niece. Since staying in Sacramento, my sister and I noticed my niece hasn’t really been eating nutritious meals. We got a little concerned because she mentioned she wasn’t feeling well while we were at the mall. Come to find out, she was basically running on low fuel. So of course, Fitness Auntie had to step in 😂 I explained it to her like this:“Your body is like a battery. When your phone dies, you have to charge it. Your body is the same way. Food is how you charge your energy.” My sister and I sat down with her and asked what she normally eats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We made notes on what she likes, what she doesn’t like, and what we can slowly introduce so she can make better choices. She’ll be staying with my younger sister for one month over the summer, so I’ll be flying home and officially handing her off to the next auntie coach 😂 This morning, I slowly introduced her to Envy apples, and she loved it! 🍎But my “Seven Days Cheerios” idea was a bust. She was not a fan — and that’s okay. We’re not forcing perfection. We’re teaching her how to try things and make healthier choices little by little. I’m honestly happy I get to guide her and show her that eating better doesn’t have to be scary or complicated. Auntie Bootcamp has officially begun. 😆💪🏽

Aunty Lena to the Rescue … she might not be a fan of your Cheerios Idea now but might end up trying in someday down the road 😁

Sunday Sister Gym 💪😂
Sunday strength day looked a little different today because I got to visit my sister’s gym community while I’m in Sacramento. I asked my sister what time she could get me access to the gym, and she said, “Whenever you want.” So of course I said 8:30am because that gave me just enough time to sleep in a little, recover, and still get my strength workout done. While I was already at the gym, she texted me pictures of Disney tennis plushies because she knows her sister is a big Disney fan 😂. I told her, “Go back to sleep. Why are you texting me?” She said she couldn’t sleep, so I told her to come join me. And guess what? She actually said yes 😆. I was so excited because not only did she show up, but I got to help her with a few things too. I gave her some tips on the lat pulldown and showed her how to adjust the length so she doesn’t struggle like I do. Except let’s be real… she’s much taller than me, so her struggle is not the same short-girl struggle 😂. I also helped her with her form because I noticed she was shrugging. I told her to relax her shoulders and think about bringing her shoulder blades together in the back. She was so happy that I was able to help her, and she said she felt really good after the workout. I told her, “Nobody regrets putting in a good workout,” and I was honestly so proud of her for showing up even when she didn’t really want to. She is not a morning person, and since I’m visiting, I know I kind of throw off her routine. So today’s reminder: keep showing up, even when your routine looks different. You may inspire someone else to show up too, and you may surprise yourself with a PR along the way. And since my sister normally doesn’t eat breakfast, I’ve also been making her my boring fitness meal: Greek yogurt, Envy apples, strawberries, blueberries, Thai bananas, and a boiled egg. Boring meals, Disney texts, sister bonding, and a strength day, …I’ll take that as a Sunday win 🫶💪

@Lena Nguyen wow … that’s a huge gap.. I totally understand what you mean .. you’re like my oldest sister the nickname everyone gave her was granny. We still call her that to this day lol she hates it, but she basically was like our second mom she did everything for us growing up. I love her to pieces. She even took a lot of heat for us when we were younger 🥰

@Lena Nguyen oh my I’m literally LoL 😝 I must admit I used to think the same thing too ha ha ha 🤣 you made my day Lena 😂 your reaction to your parents announcing the pregnancy is killing me 💀 “Ew, you guys still have sex?!” I swear every kid has that moment where they realize their parents are actual people and immediately wish they could unlearn it. And your parents hitting you with, “How do you think you are here today?” is savage 🤣🙈.
