āØCycle Syncing & Exercise: Sparkly Strategy or Sneaky Distraction?āØ
Cycle syncing is everywhere right now and I have thoughts. Truthfully? I havenāt done a deep dive into it yet. Not because I donāt care, but because something about it hasnāt totally sat right with me. I have a few hypotheses, but nothing fully formed⦠yet. Hereās what I do believe: anything that makes you second-guess movementāsomething thatās already hard enough to stay consistent with deserves some scrutiny. We already have enough reasons stacked against regular exercise. For many of us, doing more (not less) is what actually moves the dial. That said, Iām a huge fan of the self check-in ALWAYS. So maybe the end results mioght be similar for some people. If you're having an off day, mentally, physically, emotionally, and your bodyās asking for something different? You should pivot. I'd always want you to honour that no matter where in the cycle. For me personally, this is my post-exam week and my bodyās been asking for something different. So Iāve been pivoting to fast walks that still hit a 6/10 intensity, but without the running or weights (yet). So hereās what Iām doing with this question... Iām trying something new: a reaction-style video where Iāll explore what the research actually says about cycle syncing and exercise. This idea came from a community question I loved (thank you! @Anya Grace Krasnov ) and I think itās the perfect opportunity to dig in together with curiosity and critical thinking. š§ Who are the big voices in this space? š¬ What claims are being made? š What does the actual evidence say? Drop the names, strategies, or posts youāve come across in the comments. Iād love to review them before filming the deep dive. This isnāt just about one trend. It's about something bigger: learning how to filter out the sparkly distractions so we can stay focused on the boulders that actually move the needle. And maybe more importantly, itās about building a filter we can trust. One that helps us make better, faster decisions in real life. So we can start to sense the difference between something thatās just shiny... and something thatās actually game-changing.
