Nice to meet you all!
Hello! My name is Nastassia (Nuh-Stah-See-Uh) and my family calls me Bubby! :D I was born in Michigan and raised between Michigan and Minnesota, but Georgia has been my home for my entire adult life. I currently live in Atlanta. Right now, I am working on healing my performance anxiety, people pleasing, and sometimes lower self-esteem, and other things that sprout from that. I'm in the process, but I'm human, so I backpedal sometimes. So, I need to be intentional about my healing and personal growth, and being in, the Heal the Root Movement is a positive community for me to do this. I am learning that I have a lot more power to manifest than I realized (both positive and negative). Anyway, I am so happy to be here! Thank you for inviting me to your community, Hannah! Nice to meet all of you! :D *Oh, and I hope to continue connecting with like-minded folks who I can support and who can support me while on this journey as well. Big virtual hugs to everyone! :D 🌺😃🌻

What does healing really mean?
So many people talk about healing like it's as simple as throwing together dinner. But here's what I've come to understand: healing doesn't run on anyone else's timeline. It might take a month. It might take a year. It could take a decade. The truth is, it depends entirely on how deep those wounds go and how much work someone is willing to put in—work to untangle the trauma, or traumas, that keep them from living out what their heart truly desires. When did you first realize that healing wasn't going to look like what everyone told you it would?

It took me a long time to realize that I could be angry and that..I was deeply angry for some experiences I have had in my life and as a kid. Letting go of the pollyanna "sunshine and rainbows" side of healing is what helped me and my pollyanna side is strong haha Also, discovering the book, "The Body Keeps the Score", helped me. I never knew that pain and unprocessed trauma could be stored in your body. It liberating, although scary at first, to start admitting some things and letting it come to the surface so I could work through it..if that makes sense.
I don’t know if I share this here or like this but…
I am currently at work, which I just started a new job (about 3 months in), but I have been tossed into my current position with no prior experience (and yes, lack of experience was known upon hiring) and ZERO training pertaining to my position. I continuously request help and review of work I produce with no resolve or review. I’m becoming really frustrated and triggered because I deal with the same invalidation and feeling like I’m not being heard at home. I want to identify what that triggers is and heal it.

Thank you so much for sharing Kaila!
I'm Not Crazy
I recently seen your posts on Tik Tok and they resonated with me. As of lately I've been experiencing a lot of flashbacks and I know I'm safe but when I'm triggered by something my nervous system places me right back in the traumatic situation as if it is happening in real time.
