Post Your Breath Hold (Week 5: Jan 26th - Feb 2nd)
Have you mastered the first 7 days of the Breath Hold Challenge? A recent study among a group of elite rugby athletes shows a ~8% VO2peak improvement; within 10 minutes and with just one single breath holding exercise The good part? You can do this too in the comfort of your own home. The exercise is a variant of an O2 table with two differences: - It's on exhale (you hold your breath after you exhale) - It's dynamic (you are moving while you are holding your breath) Here's what to do: - Sit down on a stationary bike (an elliptical trainer or rowing machine works as well) - Adjust the resistance to zero for a no load session - Perform six maximum capacity breath holds on exhale, with 30 second rest - Exercise for 10 minutes during these breath holds Feeling energized? The extra performance can last up to 5 hours after workout. What a great way to start the day (or week). 😎 Give it a try & share your findings with the group. 👇

exercise of the 2nd day, 2nd try after 4 breaths with resistance: 38 s. First try (yesterday) after 10 breaths with resistance was shorter than yesterday. Because of my muscle disease I had to little stamina. Day 3: 55 sec! I did it 3 times an it really took this practicing to be able to stay relaxed reaching this longer time 😅

D4: first try 1:28. I'm very surprised to have done this 😊 (till now I've been under a minute and it was to hard for my mind going on when my body said 'I want air, have CO2')! It was in deed a little force but at the same time I began really having fun with it (competition with myself). Maybe I'll do a second try later.

Hello everyone. This is the mostly new Breath Hold lounge. Some of you are probably wondering why a new one. The other one had a lot of posts, but not a lot of people used it anymore. So I am hoping to make this one more fun. This is also the place for questions if you have one. A few rules though. Make sure to post your breath hold times in the breath hold thread. If they aren't posted in the correct place then you don't have a chance on winning a weekly giveaway prize. They will also be removed from this thread and put in the other. The second rule is to be kind to the people posting in here. The third is to have fun. 🙂

I have a question about the exercise of Day 2 'Breathing with resistance': Stig said, inhale and exhale should last approximately the same length, but I find it a little hard. Ether I don't exhale completely (a little air stays in my lungs) or I have to press out this rest or I have to nearly force to inhale very slowly... Do I make to much resistance?

Hi, I'm Mira from Germany and i did the corona-breath-course some years ago and it was very good to realize that breathholding gives me immediately great strength 💪! i could really make good use of it because i have a autoimmune muscle-disease and there are situations, were i haven't the power to go on walking, just have to stop and take a few breath holds and get with it lots of power! Unfortunately i didn't go on practicing it (apart from those few moments 🙃)... But now I happily start again and am curios how much power an clarity it will bring to me 😃 Thank you for this occasion! 😁
