Shedding The Fear
I'm making progress on cold calling. I went from 3-5 calls a week to 25-30 calls a day. I took advice from one of Zach's older videos and called FSBOs first to break through that first layer of fear so I don't screw up on a good lead. I'm still working on getting my first deal, but this whole project is starting to make sense to me. Where before I looked at wholesaling and everything looked like gibberish, now I can see the algorithm. It's time to put in the numbers. The thing is.... I HATE talking on the phone. I mean, I make my wife make the phone call when we order Chinese food. I'm not scared of it, just hate it. But calling strangers and asking them to accept a 40%+ discount on buying their home.... I typically have a panic attack that starts when I sit at my desk, and doesn't end until I get in the shower to get ready to go to my job. But here's the punchline! I'm a casino dealer. So at my job I'll sometimes take tens of thousands of dollars from someone and sometimes in minutes and give them nothing but a smile and a wisecrack in return (not in a nasty way mind you, but it's part of the entertainment), but I'm not at all uncomfortable. Not in the least. It's just my job, and I do it. But when I click call on my Google Voice account, and wait to see if I'll get a disconnected message or voicemail or hear the phone ring, my heart is jumping out of my chest. So today I had to sit myself down and have a talk with myself to remind me of how ridiculous this is considering what I'll be doing in just a few hours. Now I was never really uncomfortable with people face to face, but it took me a while to get smooth enough to tell jokes while moving thousands of dollars away from a stranger and into the rack while dealing and not making mistakes. So despite my current anxiety, I'm getting back on the phone and calling the rest of my list, because I already know from past experiences, I will eventually be perfectly comfortable and the challenge will shift from managing my anxiety, to not sounding cold as I go after these deals.

Aye, I love to see people push past their fears or things they just find too much of a bother to do. I’m probably the opposite myself, I dont like actually finding the leads and doing the underwriting. I rather just call

🔍💡Before You Skip Trace — Do This First!
Skip tracing is powerful — but too many wholesalers jump straight to paying for data before exhausting the free game. Here’s a smarter approach 👇🏽 💻 Step 1: Google the owner’s full name + city You’d be surprised how often old directories, business listings, or even court filings show up with contact info. 🔎 Step 2: Check TruePeopleSearch.com (free) Plug in their name or address — often you’ll get a list of relatives and past numbers too. It’s fast and free. 📫 Step 3: Check Facebook or LinkedIn Search their name and filter by city. If they’re older, you might find their kid or spouse -DM them respectfully. 🏛️ Step 4: Look up their name in the County Appraisal District or Property Records Sometimes they have a mailing address that’s different from the property. That’s where your letter or call should go. 📞 Step 5: Cross-reference the mailing address in WhitePages.com Another chance to snag a number before you buy a list. You save money You build your skip tracing skill You move faster without always waiting on tools What are some other free methods of skip tracing that you use?

Yep I’ve been doing TruePeopleSearch, but not the facebook step. I’ll add that to the arsenal
