Functional Rugged Clothing: A testament...
In my day to day life in the last frontier of Alaska I am confronted with environments and conditions not faced by the avarage man in this group. From icy conditions with deep snow, mountainous terrain, and even the welding shop where I spend most of my day, I need clothing that is ready be protective more than stylish. The accessories I require in day-to-day life are also vastly different than the avarage man. For isntance when going around on a hike or even a brisk walk in my area it is generally considered a good practice to carry a firearm, not for defense agsisnt muggers or vagabonds, but bears and moose pose a significant danger! But why can't I have both? Clothing that is stylish but yet suited for rugged life I live? Looking at antiquity I see that even the laborers in the early 20th century would be considered stylish by the modern sense. Many wearing collard shirts, vests, and different hats even when working dirty jobs as iron workers or bricklayers. Many men would carry a timepiece of some sort to keep track of the day. The problem is that those kinds of clothes back then were as common as a t-shirt and jeans now-days. I think my only option is thrift stores. The problem I run into when it comes to thrifting is that I am quite a tall fellow (6'5") so most things are far too short. That leaves tailor made or commercially avalible options but those are often times far to expensive to be used in rugged terrain such as hunting and such. What are your thoughts gents? The first pic is my return from a hunting trip earlier this week!

@Josh Pirogowicz I have a ton of Carhart flannels, fleece lined work pants, and all sorts of coats and such! They make tall sizes pretty reliably in most od their styles so it is one of my go-to's for clothing!

Introduce Yourself (ALL Intros HERE Please!)
OK, so by introducing yourself you are guaranteed to get to level 2 - it's really that easy and I LOVE learning more about the cool people in this group. Feel free to share where you're from, why you're here, what you do for a living, and what you like about style. Are you a watch guy, suit guy, fragrance guy, or maybe just getting started? Have fun here!

Greetings gents! I'm Lukas, a professional blacksmith/welder, firefighter, and avid outdoorsman from the cold northern lands of Alaska! I'm here to level up my style! I am very interested in the more gentlemanly outdoorsman look from the late 19th-early 20th century Britain! I'm 21 and have managed to travel to 15 countries thanks to the financial and time freedom of oilfeild work! Overall really excited to be here and discuss stlye with all of you!

Time to De Digitized!
Good evening gentlemen, This past week I spoke on how much we spent on our cellular and media devices. One thing I did this week was to monitor and minimize my digital usage. For the first time in years I wrote more by hand, spent more time reading, sent out more handwritten notes, messages, and letters. And to my surprised I have remembered more and been more productive and detailed in all my actions. I became more focused on things and I even felt better. So I want to challenge all of you gentlemen this coming week to monitor and limit the amount of time you spend using digital equipment. Just for this week and see how you fair. Instead of watching television or get on social media read a book, magazine. Do some activity that you have not done in a while. Avoid checking your phone for text or messages as much as possible. Now I know some of us because of work have to, I get it, so do I but I am talking about extra and unnecessary usage. When your home avoid scrolling and trolling. Find out if you’re truly addicted to digital and social media. Will you accept the challenge? Let me know at the end of the week how you did and how you felt.

Excellent advice! For the past few years I have maintained a habbit of keeping a handwritten journal, over time I have become far more consistent! I've even taken the time to learn cursive and how to write wirh a nice fountain pen! It turns even simple to-do lists or journal entries into far more of a meaningful expirence! As an added bonus people take notice if you have very nice handwriting!
