👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Do you have kids?
I’ve noticed a lot of parents in this group training not just for themselves… but to be strong, active role models for their children. That’s powerful. If you don’t have kids — think about your parents. What example did they set for you when it came to health, movement, and discipline? Curious to hear your thoughts 👇

I have 4 adult kids and one 4 year old grandson. My youngest son who is 24 is a type 1 diabetic. He manages his condition via medication well, but he needs to do it more by diet and exercise. He has recently gotten to 270 pounds and says he’s feeling hit. He works on the oil rigs here is South TX, so he works 2 straight weeks and lives in the bunkhouse, but his 2 weeks of he has recently started to stay with us again. We are getting to eat healthier, at least while he is here, and he gets into our home gym a. It as well. Hopefully sings it’s Spring now we will hit it harder and he will follow along.
📲 Skill Tree App Update – Testers Wanted
Quick update behind the scenes. The calisthenics skill tree app is hopefully going to be ready in the next two weeks, with the goal of having it live by the end of the month. Since I’m not a developer and this is all very new to me, I’m looking for a few people who would be open to: • Testing it out • Clicking around and breaking things • Noticing missing skills or progressions • Giving feedback on the UI and flow • Catching bugs or confusing parts The goal is to make this as useful, simple, and practical as possible before it’s fully rolled out. If you’d be interested in testing it and giving honest feedback, just comment below!

🪢 Gymnastics Rings Are The Best Equipment
If there was one piece of equipment that could help you: • Build serious strength • Unlock advanced skills • Train anywhere • Improve control and stability • Support a movement lifestyle It would honestly be gymnastics rings. Rings allow you to upgrade your training without completely changing your workout plan, which is one of the biggest reasons they are so powerful. 💪 Why Rings Are So Effective ⚖️ They Build Stability & Body Control Because rings move and swing, your body has to stabilize itself during every exercise. This means you naturally develop: • Balance • Coordination • Small stabilizer muscles • Body awareness If your goal is bodyweight mastery, this is huge. You might lose a small amount of maximum strength compared to perfectly stable equipment, but you gain much more usable control and joint strength. 🦴 They Strengthen Tendons & Joints Rings force your muscles to stabilize through multiple angles. This helps strengthen: • Tendons • Ligaments • Joint stability • Smaller support muscles These are often harder to train safely using traditional equipment, especially as adults. 📏 They Increase Range Of Motion Rings allow movements that bars and floors physically block. Example: • Push-ups on the floor stop when your chest hits the ground • Ring push-ups allow your hands to move deeper behind your body More range of motion often means: • More strength development • Better mobility • Improved muscle engagement 🎯 Rings Help Unlock Advanced Skills Rings naturally support many calisthenics progressions. 🔥 Muscle-Up Progressions Rings automatically teach the false grip and transition strength that many people struggle with on bars. Many athletes actually learn strict ring muscle-ups before bar muscle-ups because the movement pattern is more natural. 🧘 Core & Compression Skills Rings make skills like: • L-sits • Hanging leg raises • Compression holds More accessible because height and difficulty are adjustable. 🤸 Movement Toward Advanced Skills

@Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert I’m working on improving my dips and pull ups. I like the support hold. Hangs as well. Once I get the basics down I plan to progress to more skills. I like that I can hang them from the beam in my garage, as well as work in my back yard. Tonight is nice where i live. I have some food in the smoker and I have a huge live oak that stretches across my back. I’ll be enjoying a nice outdoor work out utilizing the rings.

Calisthenics 1RM calculator
For powerlifting, it's very easy to calculate your 1RM. There are plenty of calculators online and all you need to consider is the weight of the barbell. However for weighted calisthenics, you must also include your bodyweight in addition to the added weight since they are both moving. Kensui, who makes the Duo Gym Rings I use, made a 1RM calculator you can use to calculate your 1RM when doing weighted calisthenics https://kensuifitness.com/pages/weighted-pullups-and-dips-1-rm-calculator?_kx=d-PomsPwURR_PxpSkRQHUTE6xP-AByF8Y93yhxrlpSs.QeupfE

@Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert I’m just starting and not using any weighted movements, but I get emails from Kensui and thought this may be some good info to pass along.
