The End of the Google Lawsuit
Here's the conclusion of the Google antitrust lawsuit that was ruled : - Google must share some search data with competitors: The company must share a narrow amount of search data with rival companies to help them improve their search products. - Google's search business remains largely unchanged: Despite the ruling, Google will continue to control its search business, including its payments to Apple and its control over the Chrome browser. - Apple's payments to Google are allowed: The court ruled that Google's payments to Apple to be the default search engine on iPhones will continue, as a ban could increase prices for consumers. - Barred from exclusive deals: Google is barred from entering or maintaining exclusive deals that tie the distribution of Search, Chrome, Google Assistant, or Gemini to other apps or revenue arrangements - Chrome browser is not required to be sold: The court declined to force Google to sell its Chrome browser, citing its potential as a new kind of operating system for the web. So what does this mean for search? Even though it seems that the giant is still dominant, these subtle changes might be the crack on the giants armor as it's search data might help diversify the search landscape for other players to step in.

@Julian Lopez @Sam Cooper No Idea if this is truly helpful or not... definitely don't copy and paste anything I sent.. I was just hoping to provide some examples that might be useful or spark some idea. I used Perplexity, Claude, and https://validator.schema.org/ to put this together.. I did not feel I had a complete understanding of the business... so everything is vaguely created and geared towards " Supported Living Accommodation." That may be incorrect Hopefully helpful.. if not ignore me 😅 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kp7UHet1eYgusqfKdqkyaGtYL04twsL9GiJZ8yFeDGQ/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.cmxbtgnfeybg

@Sam Cooper so it will divide your resources to split into two sites.. but yes from what I've experienced mixing services like this-- while not impossible can make it challenging -- because the search engine is trying to return the BEST match for the person when your site is diluted with two very different things / focuses -- then the search may deem it as not the best fit for the searcher -- we see this a lot with like a Roofer who also does Window installation, or gutters etc.. its still new with ChatGPT and such.. but Google for sure favors specificity over a broad set of services.. They want a specialist in the category of the searcher... over someone who says they can serve everyone with everything.

@Julian Lopez Outside of just cited sources we have been able to get it to give a bit more details on things that are mentioned in those citations or on our other assets that are giving prioritization to other companies.. example was they were using years in business and founded date to to why it chose one company over one of ours.. and ( we work in Home services a lot ) Some specific mentions about licenses and warranties being mentioned with more clarity instead of just in passing.. it uncovered some of our compass have whole pages dedicated to the warranty they offer and insurances they cover.. that we were not looking at before but will be adding.. Also found some additional citations that the others were not mentioning, which are seen in the others, like Chat and Perplexity

@Julian Lopez in this same line of thought you guys brought up Hardcoded SMB Schema code -- do you have any more info what you mean by that.. I had never heard the term SMB. Everything I looked at last night after re-watching to confirm that is what Kasim said.. I think we are have been hardcoding our schema... I wanted to see if I'm missing something you guys see that I'm not aware of...
