@Miya T Thank you so much for sharing. There are so many similarities. Have you heard of diabetes type 1.5? Basically, instead of an autoimmune reaction that wipes out your pancreas in one fell swoop as is the case in type 1, it eats away at it slowly. There are 4 autoantibodies you can test for. I tested positive for one of them, which I assume explains why I'm struggling with candida --> MCAS --> food intolerances. I'm also anxiously awaiting genetic testing from nutritiongenome to see if there's some genetic reason I'm not able to eat this way, like an inefficient beta carotene to retinol conversion, for example. Maybe that'll point out an issue I need to supplement and I can regain my health. I'm also doing somatic therapy and learning about polyvagal theory, and how huge of an impact it can have on digestion. Doesn't matter what I eat if I can't absorb any of it because I don't have enough blood flowing to my GI tract for that whole "rest and digest" thing. Hopefully one of these things will help. Since I wrote that a year and a half ago, I've lost even more foods. (Though gained mangos back for most of the time at least, which is wonderful!)
