Check in - how is everyone going?
Hey crew, I loved connecting with you on the opening call and I’m wondering how everyone is going with the challenge. I’d love an update. For me, I’m hitting an average of 10,000 steps a day for the week, and I’m challenging myself to hit them daily (which will be interesting with the upcoming downpours we have forecasted, so must get creative 🤓). My nutrition is also been going well, and I’ve noticed how more mindful I’ve become when looking at my plate and considering my veggie intake. My confidence goal - well I still am resisting journaling, even though I know how good it is for me. I think I will set up a special space for me to do it, so that it cues me to do it. If anyone has pointers on how to force themselves to journal, I’d love any 💗

I’ve been doing so much writing. I’ve felt the need to be really inward this week, which has been great for my writing practice. I have realized that I give up on planners because my family has a very busy evening/weekend schedule and when everything is written out in one place it is very overwhelming. Still trying to use it as more of a to-do list to keep me organized and accountable, but less as a schedule/routine. My other goals/habits that I’ve been focused on are: Time in prayer each morning and evening, as well as daily devotional and bible reading which is giving me clarity. Getting outside for a walk every day, usually twice, even though it’s dark, wet, and miserable. My nervous system needs it. Remembering to take my supplements for focus and mood support. Still need to get into a better routine with nutrition. I eat well, but I don’t eat enough and often forget to eat until I’m starving.

Thanks to you all for your bravery and vulnerability this evening! It was such an honour to host and to listen to all of your incredible words. Writing in community is my favourite thing ever. I am hosting a virtual writing workshop that will have a similar flow with a theme of finding the light in the dark days of winter. I didn’t snap a pic, but just came in from an hour long bush walk with my doggo and my 10 year old. It was so nice to be out in nature. Came home with muddy boots and calm bodies!
