Daily Protocol
Most people want one magic fix. But constipation usually improves faster when you stack a few simple practices and do them consistently. A warm drink, ginger, belly massage, intestine pumps, and an evening reset can be enough to start changing the pattern. Simple beats complicated when you actually do it every day. Finding a time for daily action is the first step. 10 minutes in the morning? 5 minutes at night? That's how you make change.
Shutdown / Freeze Constipation
Not everyone with constipation feels "stressed." Some people feel numb, flat, disconnected, or like they can’t get themselves to do the things that would help. That can be a freeze-state pattern, not laziness. If your body feels shut down, start tiny: 2 minutes of belly breathing, a few pelvic floor pulses, one gentle check-in with your body. Daily attention matters more than intensity. Watch: Four Healing Tracks of Constipation — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkxdfmc9jx4

The shutdown state, aka dorsal vagal shutdown, requires an approach that emphasizes safety, simplicity because sometimes it feels too overwhelming to have to think about the details, and consistent stimulation. You are trying to "wake up" your gut.
A Short Intro to Gut Tension Release Exercises
A quick introduction to polyvagal theory, constipation, and the Tension Release Exercise Set. Important for understanding what the heck these weird exercises are supposed to do. The actual exercises are in the next video without all the explanation to make your future practices shorter. Simple, effective, and beginner-friendly—no equipment needed!

Peptides for gut function?
Has anyone here tried peptides specifically for improving gut function? If so, which ones did you try, what did they help with, and is there any specific advice or caution you’d share?

I've researched this but haven't tried them yet. I'm going to start with bpc-157 because it has a lot of research and positive anecdotal reports. Anybody have a favorite source? Top Peptides for Gut Health: BPC-157 (Body Protecting Compound): Derived from gastric juice, this peptide accelerates healing in the gut lining, acts as an anti-inflammatory, and aids in treating ulcers and IBD. KPV: A small peptide derived from -melanocyte-stimulating hormone ( -MSH), it strongly reduces inflammation and calms the immune system, particularly useful for IBD and fighting infection. Larazotide Acetate (AT-1001): Known for improving barrier function, this peptide helps seal "leaky gut" by regulating tight junctions between intestinal cells. GLP-2 (Teduglutide): Approved for short bowel syndrome, this peptide improves nutrient absorption and promotes intestinal growth. Ipamorelin/GHRPs: Growth hormone-releasing peptides can help modulate gut motility and support overall repair. Motilin-related peptides: These stimulate gut motility and improve transit times (peristalsis).

@Vasi Smith that's great! I'll jump in sometime. Thank you

@Bradley Trede yeah, that's a good assessment. Most of the practices should be helpful but careful with the breathwork. If something feels too stimulating, just drop it from your practice.
