Meal Prep Without the Stress
guys hear 'meal prep' and thSimple meal prepping... yawn. Until you realize how much time and junk food it actually saves you Most busy guys hear 'meal prep' and think hours of cooking and Tupperware everywhere. But trust me, keep it simple Step 1 : Pick a day when you've got about an hour. That's it Step 2 : Choose two proteins. Think chicken thighs and some ground beef. Cook 'em up with basic spices. Salt, pepper, garlic powder. Done Step 3 : Three veggies. Grab whatever's on sale, roast them on a sheet pan with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Batch those greens, bro Step 4 : One carb source. Rice or sweet potatoes. Both versatile and easy to match with any meal Step 5 : Mix and match. Toss a protein, veggie, and carb in a container. That's your lunch or dinner No fancy recipes, no gastronomical adventures. Just real, whole food Keeps you on track physically and mentally focused. Plus, you won't be tempted by whatever junk food is lurking in the office kitchen or at home St. Paul said, in 1 Corinthians 10:31, 'Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.' Yeah that includes meal prep too Eat strong to stay strong. Simple Hope this helps. God bless

You know what makes it even easier? Rotisserie chicken. Precooked so you don't accidentally poison yourself like I worry sometimes
Using Advent to Start New Year's Resolutions (and BJJ training Plan)
This advent I decided to use this time, as I prepare for Christ, to prepare my time better. I decided to write some SMART goals. One was, by the end of the first week I would restrict my worst apps - instagram especially - so I wouldn't scroll constantly. I also just listened to an episode of Pints with Aquinas with the founder of Shift. I don't think I'm ready for shift yet, but I restricted the apps on my phone (10 mins a day for all social media apps). Another SMART goal is to create a workout plan for jiu jitsu. I just started it but found that I have trouble retaining the info I learn in my classes. I came back on this app to keep myself accountable. If anybody else here has the same goal of getting better at BJJ, I'd like to connect! I don't want this to be another doom scrolling app but a tool to improve myself.

How can I overcome sloth and excuses ?
I really am struggling with making excuses this week. I only worked out once this week. Once! I make up many excuses and I fail to be diligent and consistent enough. Any practical advice?

The worst thing you can do is feel shame. (Unless you're motivated by shame - but you need to be honest with yourself about that). So if you feel bad about not working out or if you don't feel motivated, then I would suggest to ask friends near you to work out with you, so that you have physical accountability. If you haven't worked out on a particular day, then I would suggest doing a quick body weight exercise before eating. Like push-ups, sit-ups, or pull-ups. Make sure to go to muscle failure so that it actually works (and feeling sore is pretty good mentally). I just bought some cross country skis and a pass, so that forces me to go and make it worth the price. Same with paying for a gym membership.
I Lost My Passion, Here's How I Got It Back
Ever since the start of the new year, I struggled to have the motivation to achieve my goals. That's when I realized two big things: 1. No one should care more about your dreams than YOU. Yes, I have friends and family who read my blog and listen to my podcast, but I'm a people pleaser, so if someone doesn't care, my disappointment will become inactivity. The moment a dream dies is when we let it. 2. Social media is the BIGGEST time suck. Before I know it, I'm mindlessly scrolling. Time is a precious gift, and limiting my time on social media has done wonderful things for my productivity. God bless guys!

Oh the struggle is real! I think having an app like this can be helpful. No explore page, but you can still get the dopamine rush and it's helpful to encourage one another.
Day 3 of getting yoked
I've always dreamed of getting jacked, but I've never actually put in lasting work. I either meal prep and count calories, or I start working out, but never both, and it isn't long before I get burnt out. I'm blessed to have some guys who know what they're doing live with me, so I decided at the start of the semester to join them. This is technically day 3, but for all intents and purposes, day 1 since there hasn't been much change from 2 days ago.
