Mouthguard tooth pressure & pain
Hi all! My central incisors are the only upper teeth that make contact with a flat mouthguard, since they are the longest. Since the mouthguard cannot reach my back molars, the front incisors become the only point of contact, causing pressure on the front teeth only. I boiled the mouthguard so the front teeth sink into it and so my premolars and first molars can have contact as well. Now I don't have the discomfort and pressure. I know that this locks the bite, but my lower jaw is still brought forward when I put the guard on (upper and lower teeth align). I wanted to ask given those conditions whether the mouthguard is still better than nothing. Just to note, my mouthguard is not Reviv, since I cannot afford the price. Thank you for all the support!

@Santiago Figarola How important is it for the guard to reach the back molars in your opinion?

First night wearing mouthguard - sore muscles
Hi! After ~2 hours of wearing a mouthguard, my jaw muscles became sore. Also, my lower jaw got aligned more forward and it felt unnatural to close it completely without the mouthguard so my teeth meet. Does anybody know why this could be happening and if I should worry? Thanks!
