Yes and no. My regular doctor tested my hormones at my request. He suggested that my gyno start me on the estradiol patch. This August I'll have more labs done after stopping my progestin-only bc pills for three months to see where I stand. I'm 52.
Side effects
Anyone have any side effects from progesterone, like dry mouth or sensitive teeth? Anyone taking chelated iron for anemia and have metallic taste ?

I had a side effect from progesterone. I felt a lot of fatigue while taking it, but not the side effects you mentioned.

Histamine-related symptoms are something we see all the time in our perimenopause patients. This phase can drive inflammation and immune changes, which is why things like rashes, itching, sinus issues, and food sensitivities can suddenly show up or get worse. Here are Kaylyn's thoughts on some of the most common remedies you guys ask about 👇🏻 ✅ Quercetin: This is a natural mast cell stabilizer. The longer you take it, the better it works! 🙌🏻 ❌ Prednisone: Many women are prescribed steroids for skin related allergies, and I’m genuinely not a fan of long term steroid use. Especially if the underlying issue is hormonal. 😅 ❌ Benadryl: This is okay for very intermittent use, but avoid taking Benadryl daily since it is anticholinergic. ✅ DAO Enzymes: LOVE! DAO activity starts to decline during perimenopause, so taking DAO enzymes before meals can help reduce histamine symptoms. ✅ Pepcid: LOVEEE! Pepcid is an H2 blocker, so you can take it with other H1 blockers such as Zyrtec for comprehensive histamine management. ⚠️ Sinus Red Light Therapy: I ordered one on Amazon, I will try it for a few weeks a let you guys know! 🤣 ✅ Progesterone Therapy: This is only available via prescription, but it can be a GAME CHANGER for women experiencing perimenopause related allergies & histamine intolerance. 🤌🏻 Let me know what we should cover next?! 🤔

I'm dealing with a lot of skin issues - rashes, itching, rough spots. I have chronic urticaria and eczema, but it seems in the last year (I'm 52) my skin has become much more irritated all the time. I'm still on progestin-only bc pills, but my doctor wants me to come off of them in June. I also have the estradiol patch .0375. I take Zyrtec. I think I'll try adding in the Pepcid.

@Carla Ramos Are you on GLP-1 or GLP-2? My mom was on Semaglutide (GLP-1) for a while. She is diabetic. She gained weight on it. She has now switched to GLP-2 Mounjaro and is losing steadily.
