Hello 👋 From Indiana
I’m 45yrs old. Married for almost 24yrs. I have 2 college boys. I’m a Nurse. And I enjoy playing pickle ball with my family. About 3 years ago out of no where I started having pain in my feet. Went to pcp and was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. Did all kinds of physical therapy, hot and cold treatments, compression socks, new shoes, new inserts, NSAIDs etc. Nothing took the pain away. My family and I start playing pickle ball that summer, which made the plantar fasciitis worse. 😢 I had a few other symptoms that I thought maybe were related to peri menopause. One night I came across several videos from elevate MD that discussed perimenopause symptoms. I was blown away at how many I actually had and that plantar fasciitis was hormone related. This all made sense as why nothing was helping my feet. I’ve had hormone levels drawn and everything explained to me that I am normal. Primary care only addressed vaginal dryness with estrogen cream. I was amazed after starting the cream, that it actually helped with my foot pain; no joke! :-) My feet are much better but not cured. More symptoms…..Seen new provider this week who specializes in hormones. Waiting to see what my labs show and what the next step looks like. Here for all the perimenopause topics/tips/ and tricks!
Why Your Joints Are Screaming and Hormones Might Be to Blame 😅✨
If you’re in perimenopause or menopause and suddenly dealing with chronic pain—aching joints, frozen shoulder, plantar fasciitis, back pain, or tendon issues—please hear this 🥹🫶🏻 You’re not crazy and it’s not just “stress” or "aging"! During perimenopause, estrogen levels become unpredictable and eventually drop. Estrogen isn’t just reproductive—it helps control inflammation, collagen, pain signaling, and tissue repair. When estrogen and testosterone drop: 👉🏻 Inflammation rises 👉🏻 Tendons and connective tissue weaken 👉🏻 Pain sensitivity goes up 👉🏻 Recovery slows PT, stretching, or supplements can help, but if your hormones are off, the root cause needs to be addressed 😅 For many women, HRT is the missing piece to support tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and help manage pain 🙏🏼✨ Chat with our team about HRT here: https://www.elevatemd.co/hrt-optin-tt

Plantar fasciitis and joint pain is the worst.
5 of the WEIRDEST Perimenopause Symptoms… how many do you have? 👀🏆
Let’s play a quick game… give yourself 1 point for each 👇 All of these have one thing in common: estrogen fluctuations 🫠 🚪 Doorway Syndrome: Hormonal fluctuations can impair short-term memory, word recall, and the brain’s ability to quickly store and retrieve new information. 🧠 Brain Zaps: Estrogen fluctuations disrupt serotonin signaling and overall nervous system stability, leading to brief, shock-like sensory disturbances in the brain. 🥶 Cold Flashes: Estrogen fluctuations can cause sudden shifts in blood flow & heat distribution that can make you feel abruptly chilled, shaky, or goose-bumpy even without a change in the environment. 😵‍💫 Vertigo: Estrogen fluctuations affect the inner ear and vestibular system, disrupting balance signals between the ear, eyes, and brain and causing sensations of dizziness or spinning. 👀 Vision Changes: Estrogen fluctuations affect tear production, eye tissues, and visual processing in the brain, which can lead to dry eyes, blurred vision, and difficulty focusing. Score yourself below 👇 how many did you get?!
