🚨 Your Nervous System Might Be The Reason You Can’t Lose Weight
Are you gaining weight despite doing everything “right”?? This is something almost no one talks about. 🫠👇🏻 During perimenopause, hormonal fluctuations can put your nervous system into constant fight or flight mode. And when your body feels unsafe or stressed 24/7, it will absolutely resist weight loss. 👀 We had a patient who gained 50 lbs in 6 months without changing her diet or exercise routine. At the time, she thought she just needed more discipline… but the real issue was severe nervous system dysregulation caused by hormonal decline. 😩 And no, this isn’t always something you can fix with meditation or “managing stress better.” Sometimes your hormones are literally driving the stress response for no reason at all. One thing we can actually track is HRV (heart rate variability), which gives insight into how stressed and depleted your body is. ✅ Optimal HRV: 50ms+🚨 Chronically low HRV: your body is likely struggling hard Before HRT, the patient's average HRV was 11. Her body was so dysregulated that it eventually contributed to autoimmune issues too. 🫠 The biggest lesson to be learned? Running your body into the ground won’t heal it. If your body feels like it’s fighting you, there’s usually a reason. Sometimes it’s not about trying harder… it’s about finally getting the support your body has been begging for. 🥹🫶🏻

Thank you for welcoming me!
Hello, new to the group today. I have been following on Facebook, Kaylyn Goodlin, she seems so real and hits on all the right things for me. She has made me cry, laugh, and just feel like I am not alone in this world of not being heard or cared about. I have decided to start my journey and prayerfully find help and community to help with the next phases of my life, and hopefully regain my body and my freedom to live again with my family without so many issues that keep me from them.

3 Things Kaylyn Wished She Knew Before...
"#Perimenopause made me gain 50lbs in 6 months despite the fact I was doing everything right. If you’ve been training harder, eating less, and still gaining weight… this is for you. 😩🫵🏻 Here’s what I had to learn the hard way: 1️⃣ What used to work, no longer works. Super heavy lifting and intense cardio were making things SO much worse for me. My body was just puffy and inflamed all the time. Pushing harder isn’t always the answer during perimenopause (sometimes it’s actually the problem. 👀) 2️⃣ You cannot lose weight when your nervous system is dysregulated. Which sucks, because perimenopause is literally one of the most stressful things your body will ever go through. When your body is stuck in fight or flight, it is in full on survival mode. Fat loss is not a priority when your nervous system thinks you’re being chased by a bear. 🐻 3️⃣ You cannot ‘out-diet’ or ‘out-train’ a hormone deficiency (Especially low testosterone). Most women in perimenopause are walking around with tanked testosterone levels and have absolutely no idea. And no amount of calorie restriction or cardio is going to fix that. Let me know if you want me to make a video on nervous system regulation and how to track your own stress metrics, because this was genuinely a game changer for me. 🤌🏻"

Why Driving Suddenly Feels Scary in Perimenopause 🚗😅
If you’ve suddenly started feeling anxious or getting intrusive thoughts while driving… you’re not crazy. And perimenopause/menopause/hormones might be playing a role 🥹 Hormonal shifts during this phase can impact your amygdala (your brain’s “fear center”), along with things like balance, visual processing, and motion tolerance. So what does that mean for driving? 🤔 Your brain is working way harder to process movement and sensory input. Something that used to feel automatic can suddenly feel overwhelming. That overload can push your nervous system straight into fight or flight. And since driving requires constant awareness, quick decisions, and split second risk assessment… it can become the perfect storm for panic mode 🫠 The good news is, addressing your hormones can absolutely help get to the root of this. But in the moment, here are a few simple nervous system resets you can try while driving: 👃🏻 Strong sensory input (like essential oil sticks) can help interrupt anxious thought loops 🍬 Sour candy can stimulate your vagus nerve and bring you back into your body 🧊 Holding something cold on your chest or neck can help calm your system quickly If you’ve experienced this, you’re definitely not alone. Would love to hear if this resonates or if you have anything that’s helped you ❤️
