Can I revive these?
I was gifted two cala lily plants that were overwatered and neglected. Can I revive them? I will transfer to new containers and I read to remove any mushy roots. What about the foliage? Should I cut some or all of it?

@Emil Moldovan Thanks, Emil! I'm going to give it a try and see what happens.

I've been wanting to make a holiday garland like this. Maybe this will be the year I do do. https://www.thebearandthefox.com/citrus-peel-star-garland/
Hallo zusammen 🌿 Hello everyone 🌿
💚 Herzlichst, The German Girl in the Garden Hello everyone 🌿my name is Jessica. I live in the south of Germany on a large permaculture garden, where I grow vegetables, work with wild and medicinal herbs, and share life with my chickens, my dogs, and the rhythms of nature. My passion is to help people reconnect with themselves through nature. I’m very happy to be part of this group. As a small welcome gift, I’d like to share a short video I created about Plantain. In Germany we sometimes call it the “footprint of the white man.” For me, it symbolizes quiet strength, resilience, and silent wisdom. It grows where we walk, it doesn’t break when stepped on – it remains, heals quietly, and offers both food and medicine. That’s also how I imagine our exchange here in this community: honest, alive, nourishing – not loud, but full of wisdom and openness. The video is spoken in German, but I truly hope that its message and energy will still resonate with you. 💚

🌿 Slow Living Challenge: Reconnect This Weekend 🕊️
Hello wonderful community! In a world that often moves too fast, let’s intentionally slow down this weekend. Whether it’s spending quiet time in nature, savoring a home-cooked meal, or simply pausing to breathe — small moments of slowness can bring great peace. ✨ Your Challenge: Share one thing you’ll do this weekend to slow down and reconnect with yourself or the natural world. Maybe you’ll… - ☕ Enjoy your morning coffee or tea outside - 🌱 Spend 20 minutes gardening or sitting with your plants - 📖 Read a book under a tree - 🚶‍♂️ Take a tech-free walk - Or simply… do nothing at all Let’s inspire each other to live more mindfully. Share your intention in the comments below! You’re not alone in craving a slower, more connected life. 💚 With warmth, Emil @everyone

@Emil Moldovan When my dad was still alive, he had honey bees and he and my mom would sit and watch them, saying they were very fascinating. I know honey bees are different than pollinator bees and don't have the drive to have anything other than pollinators. I hope that by planting flowers for next year I'll also get butterflies. Do you have specific recommendations for butterflies other than the ones you recommended the other day? I'm stuck in the car on a 10-hour trip home, so for me it will just be reading and observing the scenery on the drive.

@Marama Elizabeth We were at the St. Louis Science Center on Saturday as part of our weekend event and my daughter was most interested in watching the chickens.
🌿 Healing Plants – Where Do Yours Come From? 🌿
Dear community 💚,we often talk about the magic of healing plants 🌱 – but I’d love to hear more about how and where you source them! ✨ A few guiding questions: 1️⃣ Do you cultivate them in your garden? (seeds bought, exchanged, or self-harvested & stored 🌱🌼) 2️⃣ Do they grow wild around you? (in your backyard, fields, forests 🌳) 3️⃣ Do you know special places in nature where you go to harvest them? 🍃 4️⃣ Or do you maybe buy them from trusted sources? 🛍️ 🌸 Personally, I do a mix: Some plants I cultivate directly in my garden, others like hibiscus and wild greens I also find growing naturally nearby. And every new season brings fresh experiments. 💬 Now I’m curious about your healing plants journey: 👉 Where do you get them, and how do you like to prepare or preserve them? Let’s inspire each other with knowledge and stories 🌿✨.

I grew up in an area with lots of wild fruit and berries, but now I live in a suburban area. I start from seeds or buy small plants. Our library has a seed catalog where we can get free seeds for a lot of things so I'll be checking that out more. I've also been looking for locals who are willing to swap cuttings or plants.

@Emil Moldovan I will definitely keep an eye out and look for a LETS group. And I just have to say I really appreciate you being so welcoming and freely sharing your knowledge. I'm glad I found this community.
