Average age of a frag head
When did you get the sickness? I didn’t really start collecting until I was 49. I always liked fragrances but maybe owed 3 at any one time. I now own upwards of 50 and the collection is growing…. Rapidly.

What is you favorite dupe?
My favorite dupe is His Confession which is "inspired" by Dior Homme Intense. Today I am wearing Glacier Noir, a dupe of Le Male Le Parfum

@Roland Wright for 5 & 6 which houses make those?
What do you guys think about layering?
So I picked up a bottle of Bentley Intense for $27 on Jomashop, figuring I'd rather have a whole bottle than spend half that price on a decant. I think the fragrance will grow on me (it's very dry and a little medicinal for me, and I've been favoring scents with some sweetness) but I don't love it yet. However... I was thinking to myself "what if I sweeten it up with one of my favorites" and tried the following: 1) 3 sprays Bentley Intense plus one spray of TF Tobacco Vanile: holy moly it adds some complexity to the TV, and just a little sweetness rounds out the BI 2) 3 sprays BI plus one spray TF Oud Wood: it's like the oud note settles into a comfy leather chair with a glass of rum 3) 3 sprays BI plus one spray TF Eau d'Ombre Leather: enhances the leather note in the TF and adds some sweet vanilla cardamom warmth to the BI, rounding it out I gotta say, ALL of these smell awesome and delicious to me, better than the BI on its own (at least for now - I might come to love the BI)... but the BI adds something to the TF's that mixes things up. And at 3 sprays from a 100ml $27 bottle to one spray of a TF, this will stretch out my TF's for a looooong time. Am I crazy to layer these? Is it crazy to not love a fragrance but love how it layers?

I love layering, it’s like a great song remixed into something even better. I do this with oud a lot because I find certain kinds over powering so I will spray on whatever base layer then walk into one spray to give it just a kiss.
What was a frag you thought you would hate but fell in love with instead.
I am just finishing up my testing and review of the 1015 discover set. I thought for sure I would hate Cherry Punk EDP as well as the Extrait. Well turns out they are my favorite and I can’t stop wearing the extrait. What fragrances have you discovered that surprised you?

This is my opinion and not going to bother you with what Fragrantica’s web site has about this scent. As some of you already know, I gave myself a birthday present, I went to this luxury store here in Mexico City, where I was decided to buy Killian’s Old Fashioned, I went with my youngest who bought a Penhaligons, he insisted I should try out this other perfume from the same house. The moment I sprayed it on, the entire room shifted into a quiet, amber glow which enveloped me, like stepping into an elegant, dimly lit study. The first note was unmistakably cognac: warm, boozy, and golden, as if a crystal decanter had just been uncorked. It carried a gentle heat, rich and intoxicating, that felt like an intimate whisper from another era. As it settled, the sweetness of vanilla emerged, soft and creamy, tempering the boldness of the cognac with its velvety charm. Together, they created a luxurious balance, a dance between strength and tenderness. It reminded me of sitting by at my dad's cabin with a crackling fire, sipping a drink that tastes like memories you want to linger in. Needless to say, I left the Old Fashioned for a later purchase. I fell in love with this scent and with the large bottle of it (250 ml or 8.5 fl oz). My son and I went back home very happy.

There is something very addictive about it. It just hits different than the dups
