{{FREE PLAYLIST}} The Business of Copywriting (Sample)
I sell a product called The Business of Copywriting, which is a toolbox of scripts, templates, checklists and other resources to help you run a freelance copywriting business. There are also training videos to go along with the tools. Some of those training videos are public on the Copyskills YouTube channel. There are 10 videos total. They cover topics like: - How to set your prices - Payment processing for Global South copywriters - My best client attraction strategies - Cold outreach that actually works for copywriters - Ghostwriting skills you can sell as a service (email and content marketing) - Social selling i.e. lead generation and closing in DMs - Organic LinkedIn lead generation - Affordable advertising to get clients (e.g. $2/day and $5/day) You can watch them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txshW-K_Bc8&list=PLnnL12M5FDPxduj5dF7XbtHmv967mQSEL If you find them useful, The Business of Copywriting is 100X more so. And it's “pay what you want”. https://www.getcopyskills.com/products/the-business-of-copywriting/?utm_source=skool&utm_medium=copywritinglaunchpad&utm_campaign=free_playlist_business_copywriting

Newton's Third Law of Copywriting
For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. Did you think that's just physics? Oh no, it applies to so much more. There is a cosmic reaction to everything we do. And I know that sounds like some woo-woo mumbo jumbo, but only people who are out in the world, doing things and making stuff happen, know it from experience to be true. Take entrepreneurship for example. You're a copywriter, so you're an entrepreneur. At the very least, you're entrepreneurial. You want people to hire you. You want them to pay you premium rates. You want them to pay you in advance and on time. You expect them to know and respect the value your skills. But you don't invest in your business or your skills. You don't value the skills of copywriters more experienced than you. You expect everything for free. And if and when you do invest, you invest the bare minimum. Here's a perfect example of what I'm describing. People who spend the bare minimum, $1, on The Business of Copywriting, which is a pay what you want course. The amount you enter during checkout is a direct reflection of the value you place on your own chosen profession, and on your own confidence and competence. When you say “The Business of Copywriting is only worth $1”, you are indicting only yourself. And this doesn't just apply to spending money. It also applies to the time you invest improving your skills, in trying to get clients. 10 outreach messages a day, quitting after 5 days. Watching endless YouTube videos instead of a daily practice of “read a piece of copy, write a piece of copy, come up with a big idea.” For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. And at whatever stage your copywriting career/business is, that is where you deserve to be. Because that is where you want it do be. For if you wanted your life to be any different, you would have already acted to change your situation.

How do you know you aren't a billionaire?
Are you absolutely certain that you are NOT a billionaire? By that I mean, if you aren't one already, are you certain you'll never become one? How could you be certain of something like that? Do you know your own destiny? Let me ask you this. If you knew you're destined to be a billionaire, would you think and act differently? If you knew, without a shadow of a doubt, you will eventually possess one billion dollars, how would that change your behaviour? In Think Big and Kick Ass, Donald Trump asks readers to answer a short quiz where he demonstrates the thesis of the book. Here's the first question in that quiz. 1. How much money do you want to have in five years? - $100,000 to $249,999. - $250,000 to $499,999. - $500,000 to $4,999,999. - $5 million or more. (* lay it on me) It's been a while since I've read the book, but after the quiz he writes something to the effect of… It takes the same amount of effort to think big as to think small. There's this scene in The Expanse where the main bad guy in seasons 5 & 6 of the show, says to one of the good guys who he's about to execute… “This has always been a problem for our kind. Even our dreams are small.” Andrew Tate does this bit where he says “depression isn't real.” He does it to make a philosophical point, which I'll paraphrase: ”Even if I'm wrong about depression not being real, why would I adopt a belief that makes me weaker?” When I announced my workshop with Zhihao Huang, I mentioned he made ten million dollars last year (revenue.) A few people commented in disbelief. “Stop the cap.” “If you believe any of this, I’ve got bad news for you.” “$10million??! , sometime I think you guys on X are just throwing around this crazy numbers, just to get replies... Cos yeah I know people can bring in a good income with copywriting but the $10million man be for real.” In my replies I tried to convey the same message I'm sharing with you today. “Why would you believe something like this is not possible and thereby reduce your own agency?”

Answering questions about cold outreach
Copyskills Community Manager @Judy Bahou answers questions about cold outreach. Timestamps: 00:44 Do I need a portfolio? 01:52 Should I wait until I'm good at copywriting before I start outreach? 03:38 Should I focus on quantity or quality of outreach? 04:50 Do I need a personal brand when doing outreach? 06:20 What niche should I choose? P.S. If you have any other cold outreach questions, comment under this post and I'll Judy to drop by and answer them. P.P.S. Could you do me a huge favour? I guess it's bit late but anyways....
Hey Everyone, Ayaz here. I am a college student from India pursuing a computer science degree. I have a dream of earning good and travelling around the world, but I can't see myself achieving that through 9-5. I love to write, and that's how i first found out about content writing and then copywriting. Till now, I've invested around $600 (50-50 with my friend), but tbh they were not useful at all. Can say i just got scammed by one of the gurus. And then a few months back i saw an interview of @Nabeel Azeez on @Matthew Volkwyn 's channel, and that lit that lost spark in me again. @Nabeel Azeez i finished your free copy skill course. Still stuck with no client, and I know somewhere I am lacking, that's why I haven't had any clients yet. I hope to learn more I am not sure if there's anything noteworthy about myself, but I am always open to getting criticism. I know all feedback will push me for the better.
