SOTD - Guerlain L’Homme Idéal L’Intense
It’s been a while since I’ve worn this scent and I’m glad I’ve come back to it. It is a warm spicy woody and somewhat sweet oriental scent that has just a beautiful sweet almond-y dry down. I would swear that there is cherry or plum in the notes as well because the scent is piquant (and I LOVE it); alas it is not so says Fragrantica! The scent reminds me of the Extrême flanker, which does have plum as a note, and it too is gorgeous. Guerlain’s craftsmanship is perhaps unmatched.

@Michael Marchand Thats right, amaretto is in it! Thanks for that reminder. I knew there was something special in it but didn’t recall what note.
Sotd PDM Sedley
Got a fresh sample of this so I could revisit it. Early in my journey I tried a tiny sample, which was not enough material to even get one good wear. It is fresh, zippy, aromatic citrus with an herbal note and a nice lavender push. Projection and sillage are strong to moderate for the first couple of hours. Mint is listed, but I didn't notice it. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in the base, and if it gets more woody. Have a great day brothers! Happy Super Bowl Day!! Update: Sillage is steady mild to the 3 hr mark. Soft woody base note begins to be detectable as top notes fade. After 4 hrs it is a very nice, soft mild blend of lavender & woods. Very mild, but present sillage to the 8 hr mark. Overall a great scent and product. I'll try it again when the heat cranks up.

I’ve been curious about this one, and I have heard so many influencers speak positively about it, so its good to see your review for balance. I dont have any PDM in my collection though I have sampled Oajan (didnt care for it). Maybe yhis is one I will sample.
Who Started It All For You?
Let’s show some brotherhood love this valentine weekend. Everyone probably has that one member of BOS who influenced them the most and added fuel to their fragrance passion. For me, the answer is obvious. @Julio Gutierrez is the one who truly kickstarted it all. Who’s that person for you?

@Dave Anderson thanks! I think you were one of the first members I connected with when i first joined! Since then I noted your methodical approach to trying new scents and you’ve inspired me to adopt a similar approach. It has been so helpful (and less expensive and wasteful)!
Roja Enigma pour Homme parfum
I had forgotten how beautiful this scent is! I was on one of my usual ‘go sniff the atomizer’ tours of selected fragrances in my collection when I pulled the cap and smelled this one. Absolutely intoxicating (haha)! For those who aren’t familiar with it, Enigma has a strong boozy note, but it is also sweet, a bit gourmand and buttery smooth. And although I don’t think caramel is in the note listing, I get a caramel like smell from it too. Maybe that comes from the vanilla, benzoin and cognac in it.

@Dave Anderson Thanks Dave! I’ve been reading about your scent journey progress and I’ve always been impressed with your methodical approach. I’ve tightened up my approach as well which I think will help me avoid purchasing scents that I don’t love! But the bigger issue it might help is avoiding scents that aren’t clones, but which are so similar to others I have that it’s not really worth having both! I’ll stop rambling now! Lol

@Dave Anderson I haven’t ventured into clones very much. My philosophy has been if it’s good enough to clone then there must be something worth investigating. So I generally target the originals, just as you are doing.
