50's Inspired Tuesday Evening Casual
Evening gents, I've been listening to lots of classic R&B (mostly Elvis Presley and Ricky Nelson), and I decided to take the weeknight off and put on something casual. This was the result. Featuring a somewhat vintage brown leather jacket with lapels and a zipper, a blue and white striped dress shirt from Kenneth Cole, pleated khaki chinos from Ralph Lauren, some vintage brown leather loafers, and a brown leather and navy elastic belt from Ralph Lauren. Complete with a two-tone Seiko dive watch and a long hair cut that's some kind of mix between a pompadour, a slick back, and a side part all at once. And of course, an unfiltered Lucky Strike cigarette (the same ones you see in Mad Men). Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions!

Classic Hair Product Comparison
Evening, I've recently gotten into oil-based pomades in my attempt to recreate the timeless hair styles of the 1940s - 1960s; which for me is usually something like a Hollywood side-part with the volume of a pompadour. I've been using Suavecito oil-based, as it was recommended by James Lawley (Gent Z) in his video on the old Hollywood hair style; and it has worked well for me thus far. Now that I know what works, I'd also like to explore the original products that people used in the era such as Brylcreem, Vitalis, Black & White, etc. From the description, Brylceem and Black & White sound the closest to Suavecito with an extra old-fashioned touch. Does anyone else have experience with these products and would like to share your thoughts and comparisons? Thanks, Bradley

@Antonio Cent I've been trying Brylcreem for the last week and apparently it's completely different from how it used to be. The old stuff was well known for a distinct high-hold and high-shine look, whereas the modern stuff is light-hold and maybe medium-shine. I have to use a ton of it to get anywhere near the same hold as pomade. It works for some hair styles no doubt, but an oil-based pomade would actually be a lot closer in effect to the old-fashioned Brylcreem compared to today's variant.
Best Classic Safety Razors and Products?
Evening gents, I've been using a safety razor ever since I started shaving, I'm lucky to have a father that understood their timeless quality compared to modern razors. I will admit however that since my father bought my first razor years ago (not counting the blades of course), I haven't looked into other options or done my research outside of understanding that expensive creams and straight razors are generally superior. In your experience, what are the best brands for classic quality razors, blades, creams, and aftershaves? I currently use blades from Dollar Shave Club, Cremo Classic Shaving Cream, and Clubman Pinaut aftershave; I don't even remember where the razor handle is from. As always, thank you for your time, Bradley

I disagree, I'll stick to my attaché case. Backpacks simply aren't elegant in a professional office environment, especially compared to traditional brief/attaché cases. Not to mention the fact that, in my experience, traditional cases are more practical and better suited for carrying everyday work materials.

Swap out the dark shirt for a lighter one and it's solid. 👍
