Finally a day without an early morning agenda. By about 8AM we left the hotel with a loose plan. Firstly via taxi, we stopped by the bird sanctuary with our trusty Merlin app in hand, ascended the view tower and listened to their calls to identify several species. Then We walked to the nearby butterfly sanctuary, a quick pop in to the St Regis hotel across the road for a $12 bowls of Chia and coconut healthy breakfast (expensive but good). Then off to St Anna’s Catholic Church. (We are not Roman but our Episcopalian past trained us when to kneel, sit and stand). Finally back to hotel for a nap. Hot out, went with a summer outfit today.

Friday is beginning to look like Christmas!! I have been lamenting the fact that Allen Edmonds had stopped making the independence collection and the shoes that I have bought from them for my son recently really didn’t seem to be of the quality that I remembered. 😢 So I decided to see if I could find a pair of AE’s independence collection shoes on eBay and lo and behold I found a pair in my size. I placed a bid and I just received them!! These shoes when they were new were about $400 +\- I bought them for $79!! They look pretty good as is. But I will bring them down to my shoe polish area and get to work on them!! They may need a resole soon but still a great deal!! Always a good day when new (to me) shoes show up!! Looks like a win!!
