Can anyone help, my son puts 100% into all his training sessions, make fantastic saves, high dives etc but it seems when it comes to games he forgets all this training and doesn’t execute the things he does in training, it’s frustrating cos he’s very good but sometimes makes silly errors perhaps just sticking a leg out or not diving when in training he’d be all over it, I know being in a game is different to training with nerves etc but what can I do to help him,

Just having a conversation about different activities and was wondering if anyone plays or trains any different sports. Personally I like basketball and always enjoy running. I am attending a boxing session this evening and if I enjoy it that might become a regular thing

How important do we see the car/bus journey home after a game. The ride may be quite dependent on the result. It may be full of conversation. LISTEN. Let the players talk. take it all in. Let them lead. This is the perfect time for reflection. And often where the players themselves will say something they can build on or pick out the positives from the game. It was a joy to listen to Riley on the way home yesterday about how good his distribution was and how he can out bravely to stop chances . I implore everyone to do the same. I learnt a long time ago that bringing up the mistakes does nothing for anyone.

Tonight I've got a try out with a different grassroots team, my mum got a message back from the coach today and they are looking for a Keeper but it will be the year above U14's

Sad end of the year as I’m leaving my team after 3 years! Moving to the US to attend high school at the Spire Academy.
