Where do you find it easier to invest: your kids or yourself?
Hi, my thriving friends! A recent conversation in the community got me thinking… I’ve been noticing something beautiful: šŸ‘‰ So many of us are intentionally investing time and energy into helping our kids grow—especially soft skills like emotional intelligence (EQ) and social intelligence (SQ). That matters. And it shows how much we care about the kind of humans we’re raising. 🄰 At the same time, it made me pause and reflectā€¦šŸ¤” How do we personally decide where to invest—our kids, ourselves, or both (in different seasons)? And most importantly, the WHY behind our decision. So, I asked ChatGPT that question. šŸ˜† ā“"Why do moms tend to invest in their kids' personal development but not in themselves?" Its responses are reflected in the polls below. Curious, do you agree? Which ones? Comment not from a place of pressure. Not from a ā€œshould.ā€ Just honest reflection. No right or wrong answers. You're safe here. 🄰

@Dipa M I think self-care should be an ongoing part of our lives. It depends what you see as self care? I think its always good to have a healthy balance, looking after yourself and looking after your children or friends. Especially when we have ADHD, self care is a great self-boundary to put up to avoid us burning out. I am saying this as someone who needs to put up that boundary šŸ˜‚ knowing it is important and actioning it are 2 different things for me 🫢 but something i am definitely working towards!

@Dipa M oh yes, sometimes it can be avoidance dressed up as self care 🄺 trying to ā€˜fix’ and ā€˜feel better’ instead of just loving ourselves and our loved ones 🄺
It's my birthday!
I'm 48 today! šŸ„³šŸ’ƒ Since I'm going to live over 100, I'm not even at half my life...how cool is that?! 🄰 To celebrate, I will accomplish my favorite hobby: SLEEP! 🤣 Yes, before I had kids, I slept a lot. Now, as a mom, sleep is a luxury. So, every birthday and Mother's Day, the only gift I ask for is sleep. Sooo worth it! So, if I'm MIA today, that's because I'm sleeping. Ha! When is your birthday? Let me know in the comments so we can celebrate you on your special day. šŸŽ‚

Listen to Tori Cadry's (our member) original song!
I only do this when I'm really moved by something...and this morning, so many things happened to represent that as soon as I opened Skool. I'm so grateful already, and the day has just begun! One of those moments was when I watched and listened to the original song of our new member@Tori Cadry. She had the link to her song in her bio (great job in putting it there to drive traffic!), and since I'm always curious about my members, naturally, I watched it. And I'm so happy I did!!! Listen and watch here: https://youtu.be/-sDBEieFZdI?si=zcrncqcROoZCXwTW Her song is titled, "There's no app for that" -- a perfect title for how parenting life can be! And make sure to turn on closed captioning so you don't miss her quirky and funny lyrics. I'm still laughing out loud at how she said that when we tell our kids not to run with scissors, they pick up a knife instead...because no one said anything about a knife! šŸ¤£šŸ˜† Have you heard a similar argument from your kids? šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø I have...in fact, I just did this morning while preparing them for school! šŸ˜† So, if you want some laughter at how hard parenting can be...especially after your school drop off this morning...listen to her original song. ā˜ļø Thank you, Tori, for brightening up my day. I appreciate you. šŸ™

Wow I really enjoyed that!! Did she make that up?? Loved the line about the children giving us advice, wondering how they would get on in the wild 🤣🤣 I think she has been stalking me 🤪

How to Turn One Stuck Idea Into a Clear Next Step
Hi Thriving Mompreneurs! 🄰 Do you feel stuck? Let’s get practical today, even if it's a Friday. šŸ‘‰ What’s one specific idea or goal that’s been sitting in your brain…but you haven’t taken action on yet? Not ā€œgrow my business.ā€ More like: • ā€œI want to grow my email list by 50 subscribers this month.ā€ • ā€œI want to finish my $27 mini-course.ā€ • ā€œI want to set up a simple weekly content plan.ā€ • ā€œI want to organize our mornings so school prep feels calmer.ā€ • ā€œI want to create a dinner system so I’m not scrambling at 5 pm.ā€ • ā€œI want to declutter my office so I can think clearly.ā€ Use this structure to make it clear: I want to __________ so I can __________. Example: ā€œI want to grow my email list by 50 subscribers this month so I can build steady income without constantly posting.ā€ 1ļøāƒ£ Drop yours in the comments. 2ļøāƒ£ I’ll help you break it into small, doable steps your ADHD brain can actually execute. Yes — you can use AI for this. šŸ˜† But if you share it here, you’ll also see how my ADHD brain thinks through execution in real time — how we turn ā€œbig and overwhelmingā€ into ā€œclear next step.ā€ Let’s move one idea forward. You got this!

@Katherine Lizardo well we were tasked with designing our own workshops so we looked at what the curriculum / government requirement was, then based it around this. We used socio-ecological model as evidence informed framework and looked at ā€˜my world’, ā€˜our world’ and ā€˜the world’. Looking at individual impact, our community and how that affects things we can’t see like global warming and famine! With import and export around the globe, it is difficult to comprehend how famine exists anywhere!! But that’s another topic! 🫣
