OOTD - freshly tailored shirt
Outfit of the day featuring another shirt that I tailored myself to fit. Took the sides of this one in just over 2 inches on average, and added 3/4” darts. Paired with these light grey 5 pocket pants and brown leather shoes. Feeling good today!

@Michael McDonnell yep! Neck and sleeve length are good. I buy them to fit that way, then tailor them to fit everywhere else. Must be the way the shirt is sitting in the pictures. With my arms at my side, the sleeves hang as they should. And yes I am able to move freely in them. No restrictions at all. Notice that the shirt isn’t pulling apart where it is buttoned. I have about an inch of pinch on each side at my waist, and slightly more at my chest.

@John C thank you!
Tailoring shirts
One of the things I learned how to DIY recently that I feel significantly improved my look: tailoring my shirts. I went on a deep dive YouTube session learning how to do it myself, bought a sewing machine, and have been obsessed with making my shirts fit properly since. For tall skinny guys like myself, your shirts don’t have to fit you like a potato sack! Pics of the blue shirt I tailored this morning and wore to work today, and a picture of a shirt in the same size from the same manufacturer that isn’t tailored. What a difference. Had to take in the sides on this shirt 2 inches on average, take in the sleeves an inch and a half at the arm pit, and added 3/4” darts to the back.

@Darrel Miller not too long actually! After a little while working on a shirt I had a good feel for it 👍🏻

Finished. Thank you!
Received the first compliments ever 🤩
The other day I posted about a few shoes, and yesterday I went to a couple of shops to get them (and ordered the boots online, so still waiting on them). Yesterday night I also had a friend's birthday, and what better occasion to wear those brand new brogues? Without changing anything else from my current style/clothes (I wore gray jeans + dark purple shirt), I got 2 direct – and 1 indirect with a person noticing – compliments about the shoes from the people there. That felt so good! I can't wait to redo my entire wardrobe and level up on the rest as well 🤩
