Post Your Breath Hold (Week 14: Mar 30h - Apr 6th)
The Breath Hold Challenge is not about pushing yourself. Wait, what? If you stick around for a few days, you learn that to hold longer, you don't push. You go into a state of relaxation. And forget about the world around you. Yes, I get it. When your diaphragm is jolting up and down. You are not relaxed. Stig has a secret hack to activate the Vagus nerve. One that he has used in preparation for his Guinness world records. Watch the video 👇

After a little break in breath holding (but not in pranayama exercices 😉), I tried again and the result was a breath hold of 2 minutes ... I also tried the mammal reflex (without water, nobody was watching me) and my heartbeat slowed from 80 to 64 during hold breath. 😀Happy 😀 To be continued...

Did you know this? Every day you do breath hold training, you become more resilient vs. overbreathing. When you exert yourself, your oxygen intake goes up by 300% to 500% What comes in, must come out; in this case, in the shape of CO2. Luckily, as an apneanaut, you have build up ample CO2 tolerance. The result? Your breathing rhythm stays intact, even when you run a mile. Good reason to keep posting those times. 😎 Any of you experienced an easier time during workouts ever since picking this up?

@Phillip de Bruyn il seems to me that Stig do it quicker than what you said but maybe he's just doing a demo of ujjayi but not for the time it should last... For the depth, it seems to me that I do the same as you, I'm going to search about that when I next train myself. Thank you for your answer.

Have you met your inner dolphin yet? With these weeks tips, you may awaken him a little sooner. When you hold your breath for a little while, a reflex kicks in. Your heart rate drops. And your limbs may feel a bit tingly. We call this the mammalian dive reflex, or also, the inner dolphin. The following exercises also lower your heart rate. 👉 https://academy.breatheology.com/valentine Why not spruce up your training this week. Use one (or more) of these exercises prior to your hold and share the results with the rest 🌞
