Personal Challenge
Is anyone past or present in the 30 day reset willing to share the personal challenge they set themselves please?

@Dave Wood will be when my REM sleep improves... Started a close down ritual at night with the breathwork too - I normally work with blue light blocking glasses on and as much as I am tired, still feel amped from a nervous system perspective.... The caffeine feels way easier now with the breathwork slot in its place.

@Dave Wood thanks for this...and as for the coffee in the morning...well, you did say a challenge for the 30 days FFS :-)
Has anyone tried mouth taping for sleep?
I’ve been coming across more and more chat about mouth tape—the idea of lightly taping your mouth at night so you breathe through your nose while sleeping. The supposed benefits according to the Instagram influencers? - Better oxygen exchange and deeper sleep - Reduced snoring and dry mouth - Improved recovery and energy the next day On the flip side, it also raises a few questions for me: - Is it actually safe? - Are there proven benefits, or is it just another wellness fad doing the rounds? I’m keen to hear from anyone who’s tried it—or has looked into the science behind it. Is mouth taping something worth giving a go, or better left in the “Instagram wellness hack” basket?

IG Influencer says it all. Not seen much research that suggests deeper sleep, yet, even if it did, for me I just don't fancy taping my mouth shut and adding another layer of complexity to sleep. What I do know that works - less screen time and alcohol - both improved my deep sleep in a big way.

One of the key things we can take from this - change one thing at a time, if we can...to really know what is actually working and creating the impact. For me as I mentioned previously the alcohol, off screens had a huge impact and I personally don't feel that adding anything will change 'metrics over how I feel'. I have two kids, 4&5...and at times it doesn't matter what I do.....it will get disrupted :-)

3 Staggering Benefits of Daily Breath Work
Check out the video break down of these 3 staggering benefits of breath work I was speaking rather quickly as my dinner was ready - enjoy 1. Improves Mood & Reduces Anxiety A Stanford randomised controlled study found that just 5 minutes of daily exhale-focused breathing (cyclic sighing) significantly boosted mood and lowered stress markers — performing better than mindfulness meditation. By practicing your flow daily, you’re training your nervous system to downshift out of stress and into calm. 2. Lowers Stress Response & Builds Control Slow, controlled breathing with longer exhales activates the parasympathetic nervous system (your “rest and recover” state). This reduces heart rate, blood pressure, and over-breathing patterns linked to stress — giving you more control under pressure. 3. Enhances Focus & Mental Clarity Breath work literally changes brain activity. Research shows that slow breathing synchronises neural rhythms (“brain coupling”), improving communication between regions responsible for attention, emotional regulation, and memory. The result: clearer thinking, better focus, and more balanced energy throughout your day.

Cold Water Immersion—What’s the Point?
Keen to get your views on this. ⚫ Have you found it useful? ⚫ Does it help recovery? What’s the point of sitting in freezing cold water? Honestly—why are we even doing it? Is it really recovery? Here’s what some recent evidence says: - Not great for muscle growth: Cold plunges immediately after strength training can blunt gains over time. - No better than active recovery: Studies often show it’s no more effective than a light cooldown. - Mixed recovery wins: Cold water may reduce soreness and make you feel fresher—but the actual performance benefits are shaky. So if everyone’s saying how great it is for recovery, but the research doesn’t really back it up… what’s the point? Keen to get your views on this.

@Dave Wood no, I did the performance breathing, but will have a look if you have something on pure cold water. I have been flat out since January this year re-building a new gym so not had that much time to sit down and learn...

@Dave Wood it has been a really busy period from January this year to end of July - chaos, yet kept grounded through all of it. Breathwork has been a big help to maintain the gap.
