Excited!
I realize this is a guitar forum, but I need to share some great news. I just received this beautiful cello FOR FREE because it was in need of some love. As some of you may know, I dabble in lutherie. I’m happy to fix this baby up and donate it to my son’s music school. They have agreed to loan or donate it to an underprivileged student who otherwise wouldn’t be able to pursue music. The why: this school is responsible for helping my 15 year old son gain confidence, not just in playing music, but also in life. I’m so glad to have the opportunity to pay this forward. 🎉

That is so AWESOME Doug! Good for you. That gift will make some child’s day
Practice
Practice what you can't play. If you sound good while practicing you are not getting any better.

Very good point Billy. I’ve been slacking the past few months and I really need to get back to playing again. I’ll remember those words!
An Important Update About Omni Guitars
Hey everyone! It’s been a minute, and I owe you an update. I’ve been pretty quiet these past two months. Life hit me with a mix of health issues and a few other challenges, and I had to step back to focus on getting myself back to normal. During that time, I didn’t feel very inspired or motivated, but I never lost sight of the mission behind Omni Guitars or the community we’re building together. I want you to know I haven’t given up. I just needed to regroup, recharge, and re-evaluate how to make this community better than ever. Now that my health is finally back on track, I’m ready to take Omni Guitars to the next level. Thank you to everyone who stayed patient, stayed plugged in, and kept adding value even when things got quiet. I’m genuinely grateful for you. Where We’re Headed 👇 When Omni Guitars was first created, aspirations were high. The goal was to make playing guitar more accessible and deliver insane value to our community. But between the rising costs of advertising, product development, fulfillment, and everything else behind the scenes, I learned quickly that this journey isn’t easy. So we went back to the drawing board. I spent the last couple of months thinking deeply about how to stay true to the mission while building something sustainable. I started exploring ways to offer more free or heavily discounted gear without running the company into the ground...and I’m excited to say some of these ideas are already in motion. Over the coming days, weeks, and months, I’ll be sharing updates about the changes you’ll start to see. Expect more transparency, more community involvement, more collaboration...and yes, more product giveaways, including another FREE guitar giveaway soon. 🎸 Sometimes you have to pull the arrow back before you can launch it forward. That’s exactly what this break was for. The Vision for Omni Guitars 👇 At Omni Guitars, we believe music has the power to unite, heal, and inspire. True to the meaning of “Omni” — all, everything, everyone — our mission is to make playing guitar accessible to people of all backgrounds, incomes, and circumstances.

LIFE UPDATE, PART TWO
Still lurking around occasionally, commenting and approving/rejecting applicants. Here's what I've been up to lately. REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS The real estate photography thing is going a bit slower than I want. But I'm making progress. I 've completed two practice shoots; the second one turned out way better than the first. I started client acquisition, but I'm a bit behind on it. That's something I need to catch up with this week. I also need to learn and practice creating floor plans, 3D tours, and walkthrough videos. I'm planning to go to a nearby model home this week to do that... maybe drag my Dad with me. Attended a fun, information packed, two-day conference Friday and yesterday. Met some people face-to-face, including the owner of the coaching program I'm enrolled in, that I've met online during group coaching calls. Unfortunately, my personal coach wasn't able to attend. Life stuff has gotten in the way and slowed me down. DEATH IN THE FAMILY Last Monday morning, I got a call at 6 AM PST from my Dad, which was highly unusual. His sister, my aunt, passed away Monday morning. Cause of death is unknown, but a heart attack is suspected. We won't know the cause; no autopsy was performed. I flew out to Mississippi Wednesday morning, attended the funeral Thursday morning, and flew home Thursday night. The Friday portion of the conference was rough... I was so tired... it was difficult staying awake for the entire day. But I made it with some nudging from my wife who went with me. HALLOWEEN Halloween is my favorite holiday for outdoor decorations. This year I went over the top, including moving my rack system and PA speakers to my front balcony to play creepy music and sound effects on Halloween night. I'll post some videos on YouTube and link them here soon. BACKYARD PROJECTS [UPDATED] We bought some wood tiles to fill in a corner of our backyard on which we have a teak Bistro set to put on top. I also bought a turquoise, triangular shade sale from a local auction site for $12 to provide shade for the area. Need to buy poles to mount it on. This project is in progress. I need to level the tiles today or tomorrow so I can assemble and place the Bistro set before my parents arrive on Tuesday night. UPDATE: except for the shade sail, which isn't urgent, this project is DONE! I finished it yesterday,

William, you have been BUSY! Sorry for your loss. Haven’t heard from you in a while but then, haven’t heard much from anyone. Take care!
Broke two strings on two guitars
You know it’s a bad day when you pick up your guitar 🎸 to take a break from the week and your e string pops, so you pick up your other guitar and then that e string snaps 😭 I am afraid to pick up another guitar now 😱

Man, feel sorry for both of you guys. I’ll take broken strings over broken guitar any day!

Well, if you had that happen to you now they would demand that you buy the guitar!

Retired. Played a lot when I was younger, want to play again. Playing guitar has always been my happy place!
