Fare Thee Well original by Billy T Scrapper DADGAD 4 string capo
chording in reverse hand position in DADGAD opens the door to a lot of melodic possibilities. doesn't take that long to get use to it.

about 14 years ago in my 50's. ( 71 now).. i only do it in DADGAD because once i got use to it, lots of things i was trying to do just got easier. inspred by Michael Hedges, Andy McKee and the like. there is a clip i have seen of Joni Mitchel doing it in the late 60's on Circle Game. (she was in open G). the first song i wrote like that was Keegan's Lullaby which was fairly simple. https://youtu.be/FDF1GR1_qmg . it was an instrumental, then a friend of mine (Cathy Wilson) wrote lyrics for it. here is the lyric version with her singing it live (she plays the 2nd guitar) https://www.reverbnation.com/waterize/song/11087239-keegans-lullaby-live-wcathy-wilson
Most underrated guitarist? 🎸
I think this is a loaded question because there are so many people out there that we could mention. And some of these people do have loyal, though small, fanbase. So you could argue that they're not underrated after all. People like Roy Buchanan, Jeff Beck, Phil Keaggy, Monte Montgomery and others. What's the most underrated guitarist you think people should listen to? Would love to hear your thoughts.

@Doug DeLuca I started listening to Ani in the 90s.. " I am not a pretty girl" really got my attention.
What’s your biggest challenge learning guitar so far?
one huge challenge for me was making clean chord changes while staying in time. Specifically with some barre chords. Playing a song, you might hit trouble spots where you don't get to the next shape fast enough, so you drop the rhythm for a moment while resetting the fingering. I

What Are Your Thoughts on Smart Guitars? 🤔🎸
I’ve been diving into some new gear ideas lately, and I’m curious where the community stands on smart guitars — instruments with built-in tech, apps, onboard effects, learning tools, etc. Some players love the innovation… others feel like it takes away from the raw, traditional guitar experience. I can see both sides, which is why I want to hear from you. Do smart guitars actually solve real problems for guitarists? Would you ever own one — or do you already? What features would make a smart guitar worth it? Drop your thoughts below. I’m really interested to hear the honest opinions from this group.

everything has it's place. anything you learn about music or an instrument connects to everything else that you learn. how useful depends on the goals of each individual. some learn for their own enjoyment, some to play songs at family gatherings or around the campfire, some to play in bar bands or go pro, some just to write what they hear in their head or a simple accompaniment to their voice. It's all good..
