That pick looks pretty cool!
Thinking too much
I’ve tried to learn finger picking for several years. As long as I’m not really thinking about my fingers and trying to stay in rhythm/time, I can do ok. But the second I lapse and focus my thoughts on my fingers, it all goes south. Usually only a minute or two. How can I keep my fingers going in rhythm for an extended period of time??? I thought it would come with time and practice, but I’m not so sure anymore.

You do what’s right for you. I will say that I practiced and practiced (and then practiced more) to the point of frustration. Then all of a sudden, one day it clicked for me and my playing moved up a notch. I’m a picker too. It was a breakthrough I didn’t see coming and it seemed like it wasn’t gradual - just one day I didn’t have it and the next I did. Hoping you get to where you want to be!
Who inspired you?
What guitarist was you inspiration to pick up a guitar and learn how to play? Mine was Jimmy Page

I was more inspired by singer songwriters, than guitarists. The guitar has been a means to an end. Glen Hansard, Ani DiFranco, Harry Chapin, Father John Misty to name a few.
Did Santa bring you any new gear? (Share your photos)
Did anyone get some cool gear for Christmas? Share your pics! I did not get anything as far as music gear, however my wife did buy me some new lights for my videos. They were much needed. I’ll have some cool pedal videos coming in the next week or two. Stay tuned!

such a great ability Shawn! I have an ear. I can almost tell you any note I hear and can sing almost anything, but when it comes to theory or learning an instrument, I am challenged. Had a breakthrough about a year ago when it started to click on guitar a bit. Writing and singing, I feel adequate about. Instruments, I’m mediocre at best. So, in short, I’m jealous of your skill. 😂 Keep sharing your gifts!
Kit bass
Sorry for multiple posts this week, but I’m bursting at the seams about my son’s bass. If you’ve followed me, you know I have asked for insight on this build and you all did not disappoint! All I have left before Christmas is stringing it up and setting the intonation and pickup height. Sure hope he likes it.

I like kind people. I’m a vocalist, writer and play the guitar just enough to get by.
