Gretsch Rancher Jr.
Bought a Gretsch Rancher Jr acoustic-Electric this evening. As stated in a previous post I was looking for something solid that I could gig with. Was pleased with how full bodied this thing sounds. The neck feels more like an electric. Big enough to make a huge sound but small enough not to be cumbersome. I love my ‘64 Epiphone Texan but it’s a big guitar. My case reminds me of a cello case. This is a lot easier to handle. Great sounding pickup. It has a Fishman preamp in it. Great looking and sounding guitar. From the Thumbnail markers, the stock locking strap buttons, triangular sound hole and steer logo. This thing is a sharp. Total eye catcher

That’s pretty! I’m glad you found what you were looking for!
Kit Bass
My son (15), has taken up playing the bass this year. He has excelled so quickly that he is now in a really good band. I’m very proud. For his birthday, I want to give him a bass I built. My question for everyone here is, have you ever built a kit bass? I bought a kit and have decided to upgrade the pickups to Seymour Duncan SPB-3 quarter pounders, Gotoh tuners, a Gotoh bridge and Seymour Duncan pots. I will line the electronics with copper tape also. I will be finishing it in heavy metallic flake purple (similar to the purple on old Road Runner cars called Plum Crazy). I want this to be a great bass for him. What am I missing or not considering? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer!

@Joseph West thank you! I hope he keeps up practicing and getting better every day too! And I hope that making my son a custom bass will be a memory that lasts longer than me. 😊

@Kasey Fabrizio thanks for the heads up! Luckily I have an extra in my supplies, but I will definitely be on the lookout!
Guitar addiction
Does anyone else suffer from buying guitars when they are way underpriced? I know I have enough guitars, but it’s so hard to turn down a super deal. Please tell me I’m not alone. Lately I’ve made a promise to myself that for every guitar I buy, I have to sell one. My latest buy, an Ibanez Acoustic Electric on FB Marketplace for $50. In return I sold my prized Gretsch for $450.

Have you owned or tried an amp with Nutube technology?
Nutube Amps: Who's tried 'em and what are your thoughts? I'm curious to hear from those of you who have some experience with Nutube technology in an amplifier. Whether you own one, have played through one at a store, or just have some opinions on the technology in general, I'd love to hear what you think. For those who aren't familiar, Nutubes are a new kind of vacuum tube developed by Korg and Noritake released back in 2017. They're much smaller, more power-efficient, and have a significantly longer lifespan than traditional vacuum tubes. The idea is to get that classic tube sound and feel without the size, heat, and maintenance. So, what's the verdict? Are they a gimmick or the real deal?

@Ronald Parada I love my combo amp with two channels (mic and guitar), but it only has reverb and phase. I will look into Nu Tube! Thank you for the info!

Pedals
I’m looking for opinions for my grandson’s birthday present this year. He wants pedals. I’m trying to find the right pedals for a 12 year old? Do I go with some individual pedals or a single multi-effects pedal?? If I choose one or the other, which ones should I choose for him?? Opinions please!!!

I like kind people. I’m a vocalist, writer and play the guitar just enough to get by.
