WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
The phrase that got the most love in Round 1 was: “I said I played guitar, I didn’t say I played well.” So… we went ahead and had a design made for it 👀🔥 Before we move forward with production, I want REAL feedback from the community: ✅ Is this something you would actually buy and wear proudly? ✅ What do you think of the overall design? ✅ Should we change the font style or colors? ✅ What do you think about the guitar choice? For the guitar, we went with a Stevie Ray Vaughan / Hendrix-style Fender Strat vibe 🎸 Don’t hold back either...honest feedback helps us make these designs WAY better before launch 🙌

🎸 COMMUNITY T-SHIRT VOTE: ROUND 2 🎸
First off… THANK YOU to everyone who submitted phrases for the first round! The creativity, humor, and guitar-player chaos in this community has honestly been awesome to see 😂 Your feedback has been incredibly helpful as we narrow down ideas that would not only look great on a shirt, but also represent the personality of guitar players everywhere. We’ve already started working on designs for some of the first-round winners 👀🔥 But we thought it would be fun to do another vote with 10 MORE phrases pulled from the community submissions! And yes… we will most likely end up turning a large majority of these phrases into actual t-shirt designs over time. We want a huge variety so everyone who contributed gets the chance to see their idea come to life on a shirt 🙌 👇 Vote for your FAVORITES below 👇 1️⃣ There’s always room for one more guitar 2️⃣ Chord it together THEN RIFF it apart! 3️⃣ Every good guitar player thinks they’re not 4️⃣ I played it right, you just heard it wrong 5️⃣ Less drama, more sustain 6️⃣ Tune It Or Die 7️⃣ My mom said it sounded good! 8️⃣ Time spent with guitars and dogs is never wasted 9️⃣ Where words fail, music speaks 🔟 Music is what feelings sound like Also… keep the phrase ideas coming 👀 There’s a very good chance we’ll continue doing these community-driven merch drops as the group grows 🎸🔥

Which guitar pick are you choosing? 🎸
I’m going with the purple Dunlop Tortex 🐢

I have several Dunlop Big Stubby picks in different thicknesses and colors. I use them occasionally. I also have one Cleartone Everly Star Pick, though I have no idea how or when I acquired it. I just know I didn't buy it. Someone must have given it to me. I have a box of all kinds of picks (see attached photos). The small boxes fit into a larger box. I've been using several different Iron Age picks and Ali Handel's Guitar Therapy picks lately. They are quite thick, but I like them. The Iron Age picks come in a variety of styles, shapes, and colors. But I still gravitate back to stainless steel picks now and then.

EDITORIAL: NEW GUITAR BRAND... BY GUITAR CENTER?
Any opinions in this post are solely mine and may not reflect the views and opinions of Omni Guitars. "Guitar Center CEO Game Dalporto says the retailer is going to build 'the best guitar that has ever been made.'" Umm, yeah... I'll believe when I see it and play it. Call me skeptical since I was not impressed when I had Guitar Center replace the Bendmaster bridge in my 1985 Westone Spectrum LX with a Floyd Rose (Bendmaster bridges are an extinct species). That guitar has not been the same since. Not only is Guitar Center setting up its own in-house guitar brand, but they are also asking guitar players for help. Dalporto continues, “We are about to do something insane. We are going to build a revolutionary guitar and guitar brand from the ground up. Guitars haven’t changed that much in the last 50 years, and we’re about to change that. We have something that nobody else has: a relationship with you. Our customers are incredible musicians. And we’re going to work with you in public, out loud, and share our designs, take your feedback, iterate, and make the best guitar that has ever been made." But just what do they mean by "take your feedback?" Guitar Center was kind enough to post their legal statement on TikTok: “By submitting your idea, design, suggestion or feedback (collectively, “Idea”), you affirm that your Idea is your original creation, and that any Idea submitted by you is wholly original and owned by you, and cleared for use by Guitar Center, Inc. (“Guitar Center”) without the need for additional licensing. "By submitting your Idea, you assign, transfer, give and relinquish to Guitar Center all right, title and interest in and to the Idea or any material based upon or derived therefrom for no consideration. Guitar Center may use and exploit, without any payment or attribution obligation of any kind, any Idea you provide to Guitar Center. “You waive any moral and similar rights you may have in such Idea. If requested by Guitar Center, you agree to execute and deliver all documents needed to confirm the assignment and transfer of your Idea to Guitar Center.”

@Steve Hornstein The Leo Jaymz, Donner, Fesley, and Glarry guitars sold on Temu are not counterfeits. They are the real deal. Also, so are YangShan guitars (a real Chinese guitar manufacturer -- I bought one of these on Temu). Surprisingly good guitar. The body and neck are nice. Fretwork done well. Hardware and pickups are low-end parts, as expected. Sounds good. All in all, good value for the price, like Fesley, Donner, Glarry, and Leo Jaymz guitars. The bonus of these guitars is that, although the hardware and pickups are low-end, they are cheap. You can upgrade them with the money you save from buying a more expensive guitar. Here's how to tell if a guitar on Temu is counterfeit. 1. Some sellers draw lines in the photo to show you the guitar's measurements. The lines conveniently cover the nameplate on the headstock. 2. Some sellers never show the headstock from the front, so the name never shows up in the listing. 3. Some sellers put a sticker over the name on the headstock. 4. There isn't a serial number on the guitar (this is the norm). 5. The serial number is for another guitar (this seems unusual, but it's a way to "legitimize" the guitar and dupe someone into thinking it's the real deal... until they think to look up the serial number). As I said, I bought four. 1. EVH Wolfgang Standard — Looks like the real deal, except for the price (clue #1). Mine is the red body with white and black stripes (like Eddie's Frankenstrat). Had a sticker over the name on the headstock when it arrived (clue #2). Has a serial number. I looked up the serial number online. The serial number points to a white EVH Wolfgang Standard (clue #3 — the defining clue). Counterfeit. This was the first one I bought. I wasn't certain that it was a counterfeit until I received it. 2. The second one is a Fender Jazzmaster. I still hadn't quite figured out the tell-tale signs of counterfeit guitars from the photos and description. Plus, it was purple, my favorite color, and I like the Jazzmaster body shapes (Jaguar and Mustang too). 3. The third guitar I bought is an ESP Alexei Laiho Swallow Tail V. I knew this one was counterfeit based on my experience with guitars 1 & 2. It looked cool and was in my favorite color, so I bought it anyway. Could have skipped this one, but I decided WTF. 4. The fourth counterfeit guitar I bought is a Rockingbird. Unique body shape and it is purple; two things that pique my interest in new guitars (which is why I want to build an Iceman style, SG style, and Warlock style guitars from parts and kits.

@Ben Fisher I used to go there all the time, until the shoddy bridge replacement on my Westone Spectrum LX. I think I've been there once since, and only because they had an ESP LTD Eclipse in stock and at a price I couldn't get anywhere else.
My new “axe”!
I bought myself a Fender American Professional Classic Jazzmaster in Faded Dakota Red. My first offset ever.

Nice! I have a Squier version of it. It's a great guitar. Enjoy!
