Barbbells/dumbbell only?
Anyone here running their coaching business with just a barbell, dumbbells, and a basic rack setup? Is that a conscious choice, or just what you’ve got available? I’ve got two clients at the moment — one is flying and has picked up the movement patterns quickly. The other is struggling more, especially with hinge and squat patterns. Part of me thinks he’d progress faster using machines, just to get him moving and building confidence. But at the same time, I think sticking with free weights could be better long term, especially for improving his mobility and overall movement quality.

Yes sir!! Built my with just a barbell. The only people who think machines are better for strength and muscle gains, have never been properly instructed on how to use free weights. Machines have their place, that said I have taught everyone from a 6 year old child to a 80 year old, woman to squat, press and pull with a bar. That lack of quality instructors who actually know how to coach the barbell lifts and free weights is what makes them prohibitive.

@Paul Synnott https://youtu.be/ACQizQOvLb8?si=Fp4eXuez7nV3gLBi Box squats are great weather at home or in a public gym. Very few exceptions wear leg extensions and curls are going to be as effective as box squats, for making someone strong, muscular, and leaner. Leg extensions and curls can be part of the lower body training. Just not the whole thing. I love to pre exhaust squats with leg extensions, and leg press Like Arther jones used to. I always have some form of squat later in my programs, never leg extensions/curls alone. Matt is a friend of mine, one of the best lifters of all time, great video on box squats done correctly.(very few people do them correctly)

@Lawrence Neal yep, unless I am closing in a number that matters like 300 then the client that have not I ask them to leave one, only if they feel I have earned it. That said by the time I say that I earned and then some:)

Any Gluteators for Sale?
Anyone looking to sell or know someone who wants to sell a Gluteator? I'm not sure about the quality of the "Glutinator". Is it the same? Differences?

Have it, the quality is great! It gets used 50+ times a day at my gym not a problem. Pain in the ass to assemble, but once you get it put together it’s great!

Reformer pilates
Reformer Pilates is back in vogue. Why do we think this is? The communal aspect?
