How do you move the needle for your members?
That needs to be the number one question you answer: "How am I moving the needle for my members?" If you want to get them closer to their goals, you first have to know what those goals are. And to move the needle, you need to connect with them in some way. Right now, my favorite ways to connect with members are through polls, DMs, and challenges. Polls Polls are fun, fast, and almost impossible to resist. Iโve found that polls about everyday life or how members approach situations give more valuable insight than business-only questions. For example, I recently threw a โhouse partyโ inside my community. I asked: โWhen you walk into a house party, do you head straight to the food table, the dance floor, or the corner with the dog?โ Not only did members vote, but the comments made it even better. I discovered who the introverts and extroverts were, who loved animals, and who didnโt. That simple poll gave me a deeper understanding of my membersโwhich helps me know how to move the needle for them. DMs Iโve shared my DM strategy before, but hereโs the quick version: I start conversations with the membership request questions. Members are most engaged when theyโre joining, so itโs the perfect time to ask thoughtful questions. Then, I circle back a few days after theyโve settled in and follow up based on their answers. Itโs a simple way to offer support and build real connections right from the start. Challenges Challenges are your chance to show how you workโwith individuals and the group. They create real results because youโre pouring into your membersโ goals alongside them. The best part? You donโt need a lot of people. Even a handful of participants will see you as an authority when you help them get results. And those same people are more likely to buy from you later. These methods are especially powerful if your members are brand new to the platform. Take YouTube viewers, for example. Youโve invited them into a space theyโve never used before, so make it easy:
