Mission Monday: What is your target this week?
Discipline over motivation, gents. A successful week does not happen by accident — it is planned. Drop your primary mission for this week in the comments. Keep it simple, specific, and honest. No need to impress anyone here. Physical Target: (e.g., 3 training sessions, 10,000 steps daily, no alcohol this week) Family Target: (e.g., one-on-one time with my son, phone away at dinner every night) Mental Health Target: (e.g., 10 minutes of morning breathing, journalling before bed) Post it below and check back in on Friday to report how you got on. The men who write it down are the men who get it done.

There are a few pastors I listen to via podcast and I try to spend at least a half hour a day reading the bible before I read a verse or chapter I research a summary of the passage or chapter and then pause to reflect on what god is telling us. Interpreting the word as god intended is the goal. I feel times men and humans will try to take the word and make it fit something in their life or words instead of thinking this is gods word let me apply my life to it. Use gods word to change your mind and the flesh will follow!!!
👋 Welcome to the Brotherhood — Start Here & Introduce Yourself
Welcome to StrongDads. You have just joined a community of fathers who have made a decision that most men never make — to stop running on empty and start building themselves back up. Whether you are a new dad finding your feet, an experienced father who has let himself go a bit, or a veteran trying to figure out who you are now that the uniform is off — you are in the right place. To get started, drop a comment below using this template. Copy it, paste it, and fill in the blanks. Do not overthink it. Name: Where are you based? How many kids do you have (and ages)? Military background? (Yes / No — Branch if applicable): Your #1 goal for the next 90 days: One thing you are currently struggling with: I will go first in the comments. See you down there.

Name: Shawn Hendron Where are you based? Schererville Indiana USA How many kids (and ages) 2 kids. 8 and 6 Military service: no ( fulltime firefighter) My number one goal for the next 90 days:: Continue my sub 2 hour half marathon training followed by 4:30 or less marathon in October. And maintain my strength throughout the process Currently struggling with: poor leadership at work and the separation between the stress it puts on me and not bringing it home!
Have a been taking a ‘super serum’?
So… We’re currently in Disneyland and yesterday had a day in the new Adventureworld which included Avengers Campus. Walking through Avengers Campus and walking towards me is Capt America (a probably-23 year old man dressed up)… Out of respect I nod and say ‘Cap’ He replies (not sure if respectfully or not), ‘Son’… He turns. The stops, turns back. He looks me up and down and assesses my arms in my StrongDads Stealth tee, then says, ‘Have you taken super serum?’ I’ll take that as a win. For Capt America to comment on my muscle in front of my son is definitely a StrongDad moment…

Been great I did my first race for the Chicago distance series an 8k my goal was sub 40 minutes. I ended up right at 40 minutes 1 second I had some pacing issues in the first 3 miles. Started to fast running around some slower run groups I did mile 3 at a 630 min mile. All and all I was pretty happy though. My training paid off I felt strong the whole race and my average pace was 8:04 minute miles.

I’m starting a 12 week training for the Chicago half marathon it’s 2 long runs a week and 3 speed days. Going to do some 8 min mile repeaters to continue the focus on a 8 mile race pace for the half marathon. I’ve been feeling great and your right I know I can do a sub 40 8k just need to dial in my pace work
