Hebrews 4:16
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Sometimes we approach God like we are interrupting Him.
Like:
“God, I know You’re busy…”
“God, I don’t deserve to ask…”
“God, I messed up again…”
But Scripture says something radical:
Come boldly
Come confidently
Come close
Not because you are perfect —
But because Jesus made you family.
You are not tolerated in God’s presence.
You are welcomed.
There is a difference.
Tolerated = “I guess you can be here.”
Welcomed = “I’m glad you came.”
The throne you approach is not called:
Throne of Judgment (for believers)
Throne of Performance
Throne of Shame
It is called:
Throne of Grace
Grace means:
Help you didn’t earn
Love you didn’t earn
Access you didn’t earn
And God doesn’t just give grace once —
He gives grace in time of need.
Meaning:
When you are tired
When you are confused
When you are tempted
When you are grieving
When you feel weak
That is not when you run FROM Him.
That is when you run TO Him.
