My first week progress so far
This first week with Dr. Cody’s metabolic reset has already been such an interesting experience and I wanted to share some honest reflections for anyone else moving through changes too.
Loading Days (Sat/Sun):
🍽️ Went from my usual routine into 2 higher calorie loading days (3000–4000+ calories)
🙈 Felt SO full and bloated at times
🚽 Digestion shifted a lot and definitely became “talkative”
🥺 Emotionally, I realized this wasn’t only about food. I started noticing how many of my rituals and routines feel like comfort, identity and self-care to me — coffee, supplements, skincare, my morning rhythm, even my workouts. 🏋🏻‍♀️
💜 I found myself asking:
“What if I’m losing parts of myself?”
First Cut Days (Mon–Thurs):
🌿 Moved into eating whole foods in a very different structure than I’m used to
🌿 Added more fruit and vegetables than I typically eat
🌿 Experienced changes in digestion, energy, hunger cues and even emotions
🌿 Had moments of feeling low, uncertain and wondering:
“What AM I doing?”
But then I started noticing some really interesting things:
✨ Better sleep
✨ I actually went to bed earlier (which is not always my strongest skill 😂)
✨ Slept through the night
✨ Woke up to being down 1.4 lbs overnight after increasing calories
✨ More consistent energy
✨ Less bracing/tension in my body
✨ Feeling stronger at Burn where I work out than I expected (while taking more breaks, lifting lighter and dancing too!)
✨ My skin feeling more moisturized/plump
✨ Weight decreasing while food actually increased
✨ Feeling my body communicate with me instead of fighting me
✨ Feeling more gratitude for my body
One of the biggest things I’ve learned so far:
This process isn’t just changing what I eat.
It’s changing my relationship with my body.
I’m realizing I don’t have to force or fight her.
I can listen.
Still very much learning, still very much gathering data, but I’m honestly impressed and grateful so far! 💜
