🕰️ Watch Fact: The Origin of the Brushed Finish
Before the 1950s, most watches were fully polished - shiny, elegant, made for dress wear. Then sports and tool watches came along. Pilots, divers, and field watch wearers needed something tougher - a finish that wouldn’t glare in sunlight or show every scratch. That’s when the brushed finish took over. It wasn’t just a design choice - it was functional. The texture hides wear, reduces reflection, and gives a rugged look that still feels refined. Even today, a brushed case says utility and confidence, while polished screams luxury and attention. 👉 Are you team Brushed (toughness) or Polished (presence)? Drop your watch pic below 👇

WOTD — Benyar Chronograph
Happy Saturday! Going with an old favorite today, my Benyar Analog Quartz Chronograph Watch. With the dark blue dial. I specify "dark blue" because I have enjoyed this one so much that I ordered two more along the way. This is another favorite I do not wear often enough. A note if interested in this one. The leather strap option arrives in a light tan, natural color. I darkened and aged this strap myself to lessen the sharp contrast between the dark blue dial and light leather strap. I like this look better, for myself. If you are interested in the full specs, along with more information and images, I invite you to visit my Introductory Post for this piece. Best wishes for a wonderful Saturday, everyone! 😀
