Debilitated Dark Moon 12/17 & 12/18
The moon is on its final part of its waning cycle and entering the dark moon on December 17 and 18, in the sign of Scorpio, where it is debilitated. When the moon is at this point in the sky and during its waning phase, we are receiving the least amount of its energy. Because the moon represents our mind and emotions, we may be feeling more insecure or disturbed than usual. In our culture, we often think that when we feel bad, we need to fix it, but this is actually an opportunity to understand the more profound emotional need. Once we can get to the root of the feeling, we can fulfill our own emotional needs. Once we label the emotional distress, we can then figure out what we need emotionally. It's a good time to ask ourselves, "Where am I at?" Then, when we can answer that, we can ask ourselves, "What do I need?" On December 17 or 18, sit down and allow yourself to feel your deep emotions, and go into the dark parts of yourself. Can you allow yourself to sit with uncomfortable feelings without trying to change or fix them? Once you've identified where you are emotionally, like not feeling heard, harboring self-doubt, or discounting your intuition, then write it down on a piece of paper. Put the paper in a porcelain bowl and burn it. Once it has all turned to ash, pour it into a plant or offer it to the Earth. Always start and end with a prayer or form of reverence.
