How does the Challenge work & what are the Tiers?
Each person, family, or group who signs up will get as many friends and family to sponsor them for the event at $1- $(X) per mile. Then they'll select the Tier that is most appropriate for them. On each day the President will give a short sermon on scripture from the Bible followed by a Special Operations Vet from the Air Force who will give a speech on overcoming adversity.
The purpose of this is, is because every person or family is going through something and we want to strengthen individuals, families, and communities to become more resilient and we hope some of what we share encourages the challengers. It may cause some to break through barriers, find fiath, or even bring healing to families. It will be different for each challenger. At the end of the event we want you to record your thoughts for yourself to reflect on and then to share what you heard that day both from scripture and the veteran with those that sponsored you. This helps us to spread faith and keep the stories of these veterans alive whom so few know about.
Deadline for local Hiking Tiers is 20 Sep.
Tier 1: 1-50 miles (two days of hiking)
Tier 2: 1-25 miles (one day of hiking)
Tier 3: Family Fun walk as many miles as you can. This is also serves as the out of state Tier as well.
The Challenge while yes is to try and get as many miles in as possible and to complete the distance is not required to go the whole way. This about each person or group growing together and really letting God's creation do rest. We ask that you push yourselves just outside your comfort zone in honoring what our USAF Special Warfare Airmen do everyday.
