In the past it was common in families for the Dad to work insane hours, while the mom managed the kids. Chief cook and bottle washer, baby wrangler. Been there. Kids often had little interaction with their Dad who was usually “busy”. He was the bread winner, the money maker. That was his job. Then we evolved. Dads wanted to be more involved, they wanted to be a more emotional part of the family. A great move in the right direction. But that by no means was the end of a parent focused on work and neglecting their relationships. Enter Entrepreneurs, creators, online business. The boundaries of a “job” disappeared - the day doesn’t end at 5:00, it ends when you feel like you e done enough for the day. And in the blink of an eye so many jumped right back into long days, distance from family, but out, isolation. Maybe it’s not that drastic. Maybe it’s just a little disconnect from mental fatigue. Maybe just a little less interest in your partner so you can save your energy to create this business. And your why? The family of course! You’re doing it for them. So you can have a wonderful life together. So does it make sense to put your relationships on the back burner to focus on something else? Our relationship can be our biggest business asset. Confidence, support, and camaraderie. We benefit from being connected to our family. We grow faster, we are more successful, the business is more sustainable when your life is also more sustainable. This is you wake up call. Keep your relationship hope. Keep emotional intimacy fired up. You don’t have to choose.
