Building a Niche Community in a Crowded Space
I’m currently growing a niche sobriety community (36 members, discovery rank about 650) focused on social connection without alcohol.
Something I’ve been wrestling with:
At what point do you double down on your niche…vs. widen the positioning to grow faster?
Right now I’m leaning hard into “social sobriety” instead of general recovery — but I’m curious:
For those who’ve scaled niche communities…
Did you:
•Stay narrow and let depth drive growth?
Or broaden messaging once you hit 30–50 members?
Would love insight from builders further ahead.
