What a powerful session on Monday. I want to share a recap for anyone who missed it, and for those of you who were there and want to sit with it a little longer.
We didn't do the surface version of "just be yourself." We went into why it's actually so hard — because if it was simple, none of us would still be working on it.
We talked about where the pressure comes from:
Social media — quietly editing ourselves to fit what performs well and gets approval.
Family dynamics — the role we were assigned early on (the responsible one, the strong one, the difficult one) that we're still expected to play out, even when it never fully fit.
The unwritten social rules — be polite, don't be too much, don't be too loud. Nobody taught us these directly. We absorbed them from a thousand small moments.
Then we went deeper — into what part of us is actually hiding, and why.
Were you told to be quiet, so being smaller felt safer? Did you take a leap of faith once and get burned, so you decided never again? Were you given a label — difficult, dramatic, too much, not enough — that started deciding what you thought you were allowed to be? Did someone break your confidence in one specific moment that never quite left?
Whatever it was — the part of you that went quiet didn't disappear. It's just been waiting for permission to come back out.
And then we made it practical. A few things that actually help:
Check in with your body before your mind — a performed answer feels tight and rehearsed, a true one feels lighter even when it's scary.
Practise in low-stakes moments — you build this in the small everyday truths, not one big brave conversation.
Let go of needing to have it all figured out — "I'm not sure, but here's what I think today" is still more real than a polished performance.
Let people react however they react — that's not proof you did something wrong. It's just information about who was connecting with the mask.
🖐️ The EFT Tapping Script — Releasing the Need to Hide
We closed the session with this. Come back to it any time this week.
Statement — tap the side of your hand:
"Even though I learned to hide parts of myself... I deeply accept myself."
"Even though it doesn't feel safe to be fully seen... I am willing to feel safer."
"Even though someone made me believe I was too much or not enough... I choose to question that now."
Round 1 — Honouring why I hid:
Top of head: I learned it wasn't safe to be fully me.
Eyebrow: Someone made me feel too much.
Side of eye: Or not enough.
Under eye: So I made myself smaller.
Under nose: I've been carrying that for a long time.
Chin: And I'm tired of hiding.
Collarbone: Some part of me has been waiting.
Under arm: And I'm ready to let her out.
Round 2 — The shift:
Top of head: That was then. This is now.
Eyebrow: I am allowed to take up space.
Side of eye: I am allowed to be fully seen.
Under eye: The people meant for me will meet me there.
Under nose: I don't need everyone's approval.
Chin: I just need my own permission.
Collarbone: And I'm giving that to myself now.
Under arm: It's safe to be more of me.
Round 3 — Coming home to myself:
Top of head: I am allowed to be fully myself.
Eyebrow: Loud or quiet. Bold or soft. All of me.
Side of eye: I release the old labels that never fit.
Under eye: I release the fear of being too much.
Under nose: I release needing to shrink to be loved.
Chin: I trust myself to show up as I am.
Collarbone: Being myself is not a risk. It's a return.
Under arm: I am safe. I am enough. I am me.
End with both hands on your heart. Take a slow breath in and out. Notice what shifted.
Reminder — Skool Live tomorrow! 🎥
I'll be there live, and I'm honestly still figuring out exactly what we'll dive into — so if there's something on your mind, a question you want answered, or a topic you'd love us to explore, drop it in the comments. I'd love this one to be shaped by what you actually need right now. 💜
See you there!
