For me, it was pan-fried steak. Grandma always had dinner going at 3:30pm sharp, and on steak night it sizzled until it was complete leather. But man, did it smell good!
Maybe yours smelled like coffee, or even mothballs ๐
And itโs never just the smell, is it? Itโs the card games at the kitchen table. The candy dish youโd steal from. The porch swing in the evenings. The way they said your first AND middle name!
The problem many of todayโs grandparents face is trying to make those memories from three states away, over FaceTime, with toddlers who wander off mid-call and teenagers who have more important things to do.
Thatโs when the miles between you start to feel like a different kind of distance.
Maybe youโre the one sending birthday gifts and never hearing back. Or watching the calls get shorter as they get older. Or wondering if youโre doing enough, or doing it right.
Youโre not the only one. Not even close!
If youโre craving more closeness with your grandchildren, ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ is where grandparents swap ideas that close the gap, whether your grands are in diapers or driving.
But before you go, whatโs your fondest memory with your grandparents? Or whatโs the most fun memory youโve made with your grandkids so far?
